Markarth guards hostile for no reason?

So whenever I got to Markarth the guards attack me. They don't even tell me to pay the fine or try to take me to jail... srsly wtf? I also have 0 bounty in the reach. Plz halp. I tried consule commands and didn't help.

One of the quests in Markarth causes this, because you get framed for something and then talk to the forsworn leader in the jail.

I heard about someone having that happen to them in Solitude. I don't know what the fix is though. There's so many threads I don't know how hard it would be to dig up that thread.

But I didn't start any quest. I started a new character and whenever I go near the entrance of the city the guards attack me.

turn god mode on and walk in the city and see if you cant get taken to jail, dont attack the guards though.

Try yielding. Take your weapon out, while holding block, press E on the npc.

just happened to me. had a 40 gold fine for no reason. just sheathe your weapon to get them to stop.

as a Markarth guard I can only say "We don't like your kind 'round here son."

Try leaving the area for 48 in game hours and then come back to see if the script has reset happened to me once and that worked

This happened to me. The reason was a vampire attack had occurred and had killed several guards, whilst the other guards were budy beheading a guard (This was in soliture). Luckily, I found that sneaking and standing in a corner prevented them from becoming aggressive once the execution had finished, but I ended discovering the massive pile of dead guard bodies later.

Er still nothing. Srsly wtf. I spent a lot of time playing. Don't want to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ go back to some of my earliest ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ saves.

And I was taken to jail and..... THEY'RE STILL HOSTILE
