Brightness
Is there any variance on how "Bright" or sunlit a hold in skyrim is? I ask this because I use Project ENB and Climates Of Tamriel, and the surroundings are MUCH brighter in Whiterun hold than any other, including falkreath, except during a storm. The Top is Riverwood around midday, and the Bottom is Near Kynesgrove (Eastmarch Hold) a few hours later.

I don't know why riverwood is THIS bright, I have the brightness turned completely down. Is this supposed to be normal, considering whriterun holds centralized location in skyrim?

Maybe Falkreath? It's the farthest south (or nearest the equator, assuming a northern hemisphere Skyrim and Nirn an Earth-like planet).

I would say so because of its south jutlandic-like nature, but I don't think that's the case. Do you think these two screenshots are overly sunny?

Ok, to keep things simple, is the top screenshot that bright? The vanilla game always looked miserable, i thought even this is more "realistic."

That's what Riverwood looks like for me on a sunny day. I'm using a different ENB though (SkyRealism). I have noticed that the newer ENB series make the light sources and lighting in general a bit brighter.

You could try editing the ambient lighting and direct lighting in the enbseries.ini. Depending on which version you have (.168 or newer I think), you may be able to edit those through the ENB GUI (shift + enter) but I'm not sure.

Do you think its more "realistic" for lack of a better term?

Than vanilla? I do. It's also just a touch bright for me sometimes, but we don't have the benefit of putting sunglasses on during the day in Skyrim...

I think it is. The vanilla game is always dark and miserable. The southern parts shouldn't be that dark constantly. Denmark and Northern Germany aren't that deprived to compare, however northern scandinavia is. Here's a screenshot of Windhelm with the enb: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=195603257

I haven't had the pleasure of visiting northern Europe (at least yet, in spite of it being part of my heritage), but I agree Skyrim seems darker and more stormy than I'd like it to be. Perhaps if you post this to C:\ HELP \ TIPS \ MODS \ ISSUES WITH SKYRIM ? and ask the people who created the Unofficial Patches, a brighter summer environment could become part a future Unofficial Patch.

ENB mods make light areas too bright and dark areas too dark for me, which is one reason I don't use them (the other being oversaturation)

As for nothern europe.. I find it terribly realistic, lol. At least anytime outside of summer. Its dark here by 4pm atm and on a cloudy day, its gloomy believe me. Further north its dark even earlier, much earlier.
