SKYRIM CRASH!

When I get to the load screen (skyrim) it takes me back to the steam community board. Any ideas? HELP!

Hi are you using mods? If so then try out these programs: Boss: http://boss-developers.github.io/
Boss will tell you usually why your game is ctding. Also try tes5edit: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/25859/ if there is a problem with your load order then this will tell you why.

In boss it will tell you what files have dirty edits load up tes5edit right click then click select none after that select the mod that has dirty edits and click ok wait a bit then right click on the mod on the left once then and click 'run clean filter' or something like that. After its done right click again and then click temove identical masters a warning will come up click ok and finally click undelete and disable references and your mod is now clean. I would rec doing one mod at a time.

I downloaded TES5EDIT in the nexus manager, I don't have an icon for it. Am I supposed to?

dont put itther, you need to put it on your desktop fpr example :D then you can access it like any other tool/software you have

Sorry. It's not downloading to my desktop, it goes right into a 7Z file type. I can't open that

Sigh......:( A lot of frustration guys. I followed everything everyone suggested, I have BOSS, I unzipped TES5EDIT, I reloaded Steam, I don't know, maybe I should just stick with the xbox version. Thanks for the help

For me its TESV not responding while playing skyrim and its retail add-ons "dragonborn, dawngard, hearthfire and the 3 high res texture packs"
i have been having skyrim TESV.exe "not responding" while entering random cities (mainly Whiterun after returning from Bleekfalls Burrow with the dragon stone), structures and on loading game saves.
i have removed (manualy) and re-installed skyrim several times and also format and re-install windows 7 64bit several times now. never had any
problems since a few months ago. currently i have 1800hrs of game play up with over 90 mods before problems arised. currently have 0 mods
installed as trying to find a solution.

I gave this LW6W now to you. It explains a lot but it will take patient and time to do it right but in the end it will be worth it.

BOSS will tell you your load order and it should be like I wrote.(you can move that order around yourself) (This is important to have correct). It also tells you if you have dirty edits ITM's and UDR's.
TES5Edit when you open it you will see a box it will pick up your ESM's and ESP's you have in game just click OK.

This will take time to complete (here on is a patience game)(More mods more time)
Once completed it should all load up on left side just choose Update.esm and right click on it.
Look for title Apply filter for cleaning and right click (Now for you will take forever make a cup of coffee) Nothing happens in page (no crash) just look at very top of page and it will ticking the bytes over.

Once completed the left column items will in colour.
Now using your BOSS list of files with dirty edits on it(2 monitors are great for this)
In TES5Edit now right click on SKYRIM.ESM and go down the list until you find one that is on BOSS list.

Left click on it and find REMOVE IDENTICAL MASTERS records and right click
A box with WARNING in it will aoppear wait and press OK (this is the only time it will show)
Bottom of right side page you will see it working when completed. Left click on file again and find UNDELETE and DISABLE REFERENCES and right click on that, again it will show bottom right page. You have to do that to all files in same order as written repeat until done.
Exit program and a window box will show with list of files you have cleaned just OK it all done for this.

Load WYRE BASH up this it will find Skyrim and it loads up all esm's and esp's, left click on one of the files There should be a build patch there, mine says rebuild patch (Dull which means I can't use it) as I have already done it. Sorry you may have to read up on, it's been awhile.
But once its done everytime you clean it automatically updates patch.
BOSS will now show bash tags but no dirty edits.
There is a help page at bottom left of screen.

If you are not sure of load order I will give copy.

As for you Toranass if you havn't got TESV you cannot start game!!! It is an EXE (application) file.
