Getting lonely without a follower
I decided to replay my first character recently for a variety of reasons. One thing I had wanted to do, but didn't during my first playthrough was to do sneak attacks so I decided it might be easier without a follower. That would also give me an added challenge, but now I'm starting to get lonely and I haven't even played that long. There's a modded follower that's supposed to be the sneaky type so I might pick her up or maybe I'll explore some Dwemer ruins with Lydia. idk...

Well , vilja does get stealth up to 100 with time.

On my char they almost never see her , and i mean on plain day light , while she follows me.

Granted she got an entire stealth set.

Janessa in the drunken huntsmen aint bad has decent sneak skill that gets realy good at higher lvls or get the Amazing follower tweaks mod and choose to lvl your followers how you want so you can max out thier sneak ability on any one also has an option to make followers invisible while you sneak

Well, I made two backstabs last night so that makes me feel better about going alone. I think the quests would be too easy on my difficulty with a follower anyways. I still might use one for harder missions.

Put some sneak boot on her, lol.

Mine is J'zargo and I have Morekei's mask (100% faster magicka regeneration), Gaulder amulet (+30 magicka, health and stamina) and ring of regeneration (40% faster health regen), combined with dragonbone armour and he's a tank, almost nothing will stop him. Oh, and boots of better sneaking (+30%, I think)

In the consrruction set, I always remove lydia's armour ans sword (give her clothes unless you want her to run around the house naked) make her essential and tick the box that says she has no effect on stealth.

She still charges off and attacks things, but only after you have shot at them.

You could also just use the UFO followers mod to change their equipment. It also prevents followers from charging in. That is until they're detected.

Or Amazing Follower Tweaks (better than the above, imo. I had problems not being able to dismiss my housecarl followers with UFO)

Not really. They mostly can't follow you when you start leaping from rock to rock, but they fast travel to you when you change cells.

I'd recommend Kharjo, the Khajiit follower who works guarding the caravans. Unfortunately not too sneaky, but if you are going sneaky, you could try getting used to issuing waiting and attack commands.

Inigo has a personality and a high sneak skill. I highly recommend him.

Just a note, you need to get this mod for that follower:

Maybe I'll try it out some day.
