Difference between Empire and Rebels?
How different is the story and how does it affect skyrim as a whole whoever I help. I already did the civil war helping the empire now wondering how it would be if I helped the rebels instead since Im going through a second playthrough now that I upgraded my computer but I dont wanna screw myself over.

Edit: Also does it affect other story lines, like before I helped the empire win the civil war then joined the brotherhood (before the final assault to windhelm) and eventually ended up killing the empires emperor (cool plottwist and continuing story) So yeah would it affect other stories at all?

the only thing you might have a problem with is quests dependand on the sitting jarl, or member of their court.

yeah, you do also get different weapons, and the world changes accordingly to the battles of which you win for either side =)

Honestly, the sides don't matter to the game. Outside of jarl and guard changes not much changes. It would have been interesting if the game change a lot because then it would force people to play through both sides.

I did notice that there was Stormcloak camps that appeared outta nowhere for the remaining rebel fighters. And the legions were everywhere as Necrosis already mentioned

It honestly doesn't change much. Obviously either General Tullius or Ulfric will be gone by the end but besides that it's like others have said: a couple of jarls will change, some forts will be garrisoned by the winning side, and some NPCs will have new dialogue options (i.e. "How's it been since the Imperials/Stormcloaks took over?").

In the end, nothing too major or world changing.

The freedom we're given to do quest chains in any order hobbles the developer/designer. it would probably triple(atleast) the time it took to make the game, as they would constantly have to rewrite and adjust the other chains to reflect the outcomes of each other.
