Unofficial Patch for base game and all DLC's
I'm curious, Have any of you played Skyrim 'without' any of the unofficial patches, and then installed them and played 'with' them as well?

The reason I ask is that the patch description just say that they "fix a bunch of stuff to the extent of the Creation Kit's ability" and that's cool, but what specific changes are being made?

I have just installed the following:

Original Skyrim Patch,
Hearthfires Patch,
Dawngaurd Patch,
Dragonborn Patch,
HighRes Patch,
And a patch that corrects typos in Skyrim's in-game books,

What can I expect in terms of game-play and visuals? Also, am I missing any patches?

Thanks in advance.

Hi buddy yes I did and have stuff missing or simply not in the game. Dragonborn I play totally without patch then played with patch total new game. No Thalmor in first play through and a couple of other missing bits. Sailors standing on shore not doing anything etc.

I played my first 50 hours of Skyrim without the unofficial patches and didn't notice any major bugs [or any bugs; mainly because I was not aware of them]. Although, I did add the unofficial patches to an existing playthrough, and experienced no problems. The only thing you can't do is remove the patches once added to a save-file; as the patches include scripts.

The unofficial patches are compiled by a select group of long time Bethesda modders [so ya, these aren't amateurs]. I know many go back to the early days of Oblivion, but perhaps some go back to even Morrowind.

The bug fixes are numerous: from correcting wrong weapon dmg values, to giving sleep packages to NPCs who lack them in the game, but were designed to have them [usually there are references to such items, but were never included in the final release version for some reason].
Here's a list of fixes for the USKP [Skyrim]. You can google for the others.

[You'll see there are a ton of fixes]. It is good practice to take a glance at the fixes, to get a better understanding of the type of fixes the unofficial patch team addresses.

One last thing, all the patches you listed are part of the "unofficial patches", with exception to the "Book Patch", which I have not heard of. Can you provide a link?

My experience is the patches fix things such as in one quest there is an unidentified amulet that is suposed to be ID'd at the end of the quest. It didn't ID until I down loaded the patch. Other issues are you can't remove a quest item from your inventory until the quest is complete, some times you can't remove it even after the quest is complete. The patch fixes this. I don't remember the exact quest effected. I think you have all the patches but I am not sure. Hope this helped.

Make sure your load order is right. Even though the Unoffical patchs are tagged as an esp. they are not esp's they are esm's

What is the proper order?

In your Skyrim data file it should look like this, starting at the top, Unoffical Skyrim patch, then Dawnguard.esm, Unoffical Dawnguard patch, then Hearthfires.esm, Unoffical Hearthfires patch then Dragonborn.esm, Unoffical Dragonborn patch. As for the Hi Res Texture pack, i do not know as i do not use the Hi Res Texture pack because i don't think they are worth their weight to install

Thanks for the tip Relnor, but I have always done everything manually. I have never used any program fro mod installation or uninstallation.

I don't really see a change when using the Hi Res Texture pack
