Mods for Better Performance?
Hey guys, I want to ask if there's any mods for better performance. I'm pretty sure I posted a thread like this a while ago, but something happened to it. Anyways, I have close to 100 mods (about 88 of them) and most of them are script-based. I also use the Seasons of Skyrim ENB, the one I use is the Tribute version. Because of this, I expected lag and whatnot. Right now, I'm using Safety Load, and it did help. But, I'm lagging around 5-15 fps drop in cities. I tried using Realvision ENB, since people reccommended it to me, but the colors appear to bright and great in contrast. I probably need a more softer enb (which is difficult, because of everyone's different systems) and some advice on performance mods. I really don't want a link to a website like STEP, since I already seen that.

Well you might as well forget about any ENBs.

I know there is a mod that has lower resolution textures, but I can't remember the name.

Well, the colors of the vanilla game seem really, bland, to me. And it sort of has about 5-10 fps drop in cities as well.

There are a lot out there but you will find more on the nexus than on here. I use a bunch and my game runs smooth and on a mid to lower end rig.

You can't complain about having bad FPS when using an ENB.

Then try this: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/48554/?

But that won't increase your frame rate, it will only reduce it much less than using an ENB.

I'll give you some links to some that have helped me.

No more glowing edge mod, removes the glow from enchanted gear.

ShowRaceMenu Precache Killer, incase you are having any issues at character creation.

Skyrim Project Optimization

Skyrim Performance PLUS

That is just a couple but they will help you get started. I know there are many others depending on your needs, and I know there are some on the workshop as well. I'll find them and link them for you as well. These are ones I use, just so you know I'm not just throwing some up without knowing about them.

Skyrim performance underwater grass and Skyrim performance rocks are two from the workshop that really help. The grass one removes grass from under the water which the game must draw even if you aren't seeing it so it helps speed things up. The rock one removes tiny rocks that most don't even notice and it's for the same reason as the grass one. Those are both in the workshop.

Would Memory Blocks Log help? It talks about pre-allocating memory blocks. Would this also help?

You could also allocate more VRAM and that will help. Look it up online for the how to for your system.

Grass on Steroids will help to reduce the lag that is found in outdoor areas, especially in areas around riften or have a lot of flora rendering. Just make sure to read the description and follow installation instructions.

What SKSE version are you using?

If you're having performance issues with vanilla skyrim, then you need to upgrade your hardware. Also ENBs will always cause a performance hit, so you can't complain about fps loss if you're using them.

I'm afraid mods wont completely fix your fps problem. They'll help, but if you have 5 fps you need better hardware.

I'm sorry if you meant 5-15 fps as in normal. I meant as a drop. But I'm tweaking my settings around so it would work. Idk though.
