M'aiq The Liar
I remember a discussion talking about Argonians and their lifespan. Now I've only played Oblivion and Skyrim despite owning Morrowind I've just never got around to it. But I know M'aiq is in Oblivion is he in any other TES games??? Cause that is one old cat. As old as any living mer or Argonian.

Yeah, he was in Morrowind. He never seemed to go anywhere though. Anyway - he lies about his age. :-)

He also says his father and grandfather were named M'aiq.

He is in every Elder Scrolls game since Morrowind, He usually refrerences things other games have that this one doesnt, or things fans requested, or just 4th wall breakers.

Yes, and he also lies about as many things as possible.
Maybe his whole family was named M'aiq.
Maybe he's immortal.
Hell if we'll ever know.

I think he's one of the Aedra. He's in all TES games somewhere. In Morrowind and Oblivion he can run far faster than even the main character "hero" of the game even when athletics are maxed out. He's not just a normal Kajit.

He could be one of the Daedric princes as well. Since I believe an Aedra wouldn't go to something as low as a wandering lying Kahjiit.

Perhaps he's Hermaeus Mora. How else would he have so much hidden knowledge?

The Daedra love to show off and prove how powerful they are. None of them would keep quiet for long. The Aedra, on the other hand, operate more in the background. They're content to just sit back and watch creation unfold as it wishes. The Daedra lust for power and always wish to change things to their whims.

Maiq has kept his secret for a long time now. I think he's a God that enjoys watching things happen from the street level.

So Lorkhan, perhaps? After all, he did kinda go missing after he tricked Akatosh into creating the physical world.

I suppose that could be possible, but the Dwarves did make use of the actual Heart of Lorkhan. Then again, we're dealing with Gods. Anything is possible.

It would fit in with him being called "the liar", though. Maybe it is Lorkhan. It makes sense if you accept that he tricked the dwarves somehow. Which, again, would fit in with him taking on the title "the liar". Hmmmmm we may be on to something here.

He's just a fun character within the 4th wall, you people are putting far too much thought into it.

Clearly not a role player. You see this is what makes the game for some of us. To some the role playing is just pointless and ignorant. To others it's just something we love. Learning the lore and guessing and debating and random things that lore doesn't explain or is vague on. Like M'aiq the Liar appearing so much or how long do Argonians live since they are basically infused with Magicka from the histsap.
