Why does it take so looooooooong???

Okay, so I've been playing Skyrim for aaaages, with mods intalled. I have also installed BOSS so my load order is correct, but lately it has been slowing down, for example, when I want to place an item in a safe it takes up to 30 seconds for this to happen, really annoying when you've got absolutely LOADS to store. Also when repairing and creating items the same thing happens. Can anyone tell me why this is so, it's really putting me off playing as it takes sooooooo long to do stuff!! btw I have windows 8.1 and a HP 64bit with 8Gg of memory and ATi graphics Radeon 5700Hd (didn't know if putting specs on would help, but I did it anyway). I tried dissabling anti alaising an also anistropic filtering, but it didn't make any difference. Thanks in advance. Ju

The more items you have in a container the longer it will take for the game to process item additions or removals, same rule applies for your inventory.

If you have a lot of stuff on you or in a container it takes long. I make a habit to put not that much stuff in one container, but spread it a bit over several containers.

Has nothing to do with the OS and everything to do with the rd party tools you're using..

I've said it once and I'll say it again...Use of 3rd party tools and programs eventually screw up your game..People love trying to say they don't, but topics like this prove they do.

If you have a lot of vanilla game items it will lag I used to have to wait around 1 minute because I had every single item happened every time I opened my inventory, crafting, etc I'm pretty sure SKYUI fixed it for me since I have around 1600 items in weapons and armor on my character and it does not lag but that is modded items.. May only happen with vanilla items.

Yeah, whatever, lone dissenter. The OP didn't even mention any 3rd party tools, save for BOSS, and BOSS does nothing outside of of order your mod list based on a community-sourced masterlist. Maybe third party tools broke your game because you didn't know how to use them. I've never encountered a problem that was linked back to BOSS, Wrye Bash, or any tool that wasn't an error on my part. If a mod is screwy, then you'll probably see a bunch of comments complaining aboout it, so its still kind of the user's fault there. BOSS is practically essential. Wrye Bash, mod organizer, and TES5edit can screw you over, but only if you don't know what you're doing. And just because you don't know what you're doing, and you bork your games, doesn't mean that we don't.

But what the op is talking baout? This can happen even on an unmodded Skyrim. I've seen my brother's friend do this to his save on the console version. I kept telling him not to save all that junk, that it was slowing his game down, but he didn't believe me. Meanwhile, he kept stuffing more potions into his barrel of infitite space (ever wonder if maybe containers should have weight limits to serve as space limits?) and wonder why he can't get anything done.

Seriously, get rid of stuff. Sell it off. Delete it with console commands if you have to. Just get rid of it and see if that helps.

Or, you know, it could be BOSS ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up your game...somehow...magically...yeah...

Have you removed mods from your current savegame? A lot of lag comes from script bloat eating up resources and orphaned scripts from removed mods greatly increases that bloat.
