I'm tired of restarteritus... so I cured myself? Lol, mebbe not. :)
So, I stopped restarting to get a build just right. I have that problem, if a build isn't exactly what I want, I start again, so I start thinking about stats and then I am no longer enjoying the game because it's all about having the build reach the stats. No more.

I started a new build. Most of the mods in this group except the Alternate start. EDIT: some of these mods I'm running from Nexus which has more complete versions of them.

I love gnewma's thread on her Requiem build. Nope, mine is nowhere near as challenging, as I don't have Requiem installed, but I thought it'd be nice to post it regardless. I know some people follow builds here. Here is the concept.

1. No crafting build. I can only build items for a Hearthfire home exterior. The interior will be furnished by a steward.

2. No soul-trapping, unless by accident (Mace of Molag Bal), or because the weapon includes it as a feature (bound weapons). I am using filled soul gems that I find.

3. Use the faction armor and weapons of the faction you're in.

4. Adept difficulty or greater.

5. Training is allowed, but only at later levels, after level 30.

6. No fast travel, except to reset followers, or for extreme roleplaying purposes.

Race - Breton for magic resistance, handy for no-crafting builds

Magicka:Health:Stamina = 0:2:2

Skills - Primary Offense (One-handed), Primary Defense (Block), Secondary Offense (Archery), Secondary Defense (Heavy armor), Conjuration. Minor skills; two-handed, light armor, and restoration. Lockpicking and Speech always go up.

Stone - Advanced Atronach, I'm sure you've heard of it. Take a potion of the healer right before you activate the stone and interesting things happen. As you get higher level restoration potions, rinse and repeat. The stunt in magicka regen is inconsequential to a warrior. The spell absorption is insane, even at the default 50%. The. Best. Stone. In. The. Game. Period.

Shouts - This isn't a shout heavy build, as I always forget to shout. When I remember, I'll shout.

Questlines - This is a completionist build; Companions, Mage's guild, DB, TG, Daedric quests, Side quests, Mainquest, Dawnguard, and Dragonborn.

Follower - Barbas, yes, you read that right, BARBAS! He's great. I have dogs that get underfoot, so his antics don't bother me nearly as much. When the time is right, I'll add Wyrmstooth's Faelor. Two dogs, hopefully Barbas will follow me into Solstheim.

See, usually I do a faction and then when I get the materials for that faction, I put it in a chest or on a mannequin and never use it again. I hate that, so I devised this build to take advantage of many the unique weapons and armors in the game.

EDIT: I had first started a male merc build using these stats, but then I signed on to Nexus, installed some mods and felt the need to restart, so now the build is female. Sorry for some confusion in posts as I didn't feel like deleting the thread and starting over.

Yay!! Sounds fun, I really like the idea of wearing the appropriate gear for your faction, I'm intending to do the same this playthrough if I end up joining any (am already wearing novice robes obtained in Helgen, which is fine as I'm planning to join the College only, or maybe Dawnguard if I play long enough to beat vampires, which are among the toughest foes in Requiem, apparently). My last character was a heavy armour user who insisted on wearing her Stormcloak gear in civil war battles which... was interesting! I think this'll solve a lot of my issues with the game. I'm playing him as a sort of curious weapons expert/mercenary. He has logical reasons to join each of the factions. The hardest one for immersion will be Winterhold, but that's what the rumor mill at the inns are for and what decent mercenary doesn't listen to town rumors and gossip?

Not sure which side of the Civil War I'll join. I went with Ralof at Helgen, cause well, the Imperials tried to cut off my head and joining Ralof gets you more arrows. This may be the build that changes sides. I've never done that before. Start off with the Stormcloaks and then end with the Imperials. A mercenary would do whatever benefitted him.
Get Touring Carriages, from the Nexus.
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/38529/?

Also, crank the difficulty up to Master or even Legendary, because even then it's still easy.

If you, like me, hate how you have to unrealistically swing your sword through your enemies hundreds of times before they fall at higher levels, try SkyTweak.
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=132455293&searchtext=skytweak

If you look at the 3rd screenshot from SkyTweak's workshop page, you'll see 2 variables:
Damage Dealt <difficulty> and Damage Taken <difficulty>.
I for one play on Master, but set the values to:
Damage Dealt Master=2.00
Damage Taken Master=4.00

This means that I do twice as much damage as in Vanilla, and guarantees a more realistic approach to damage in Skyrim. With balance in mind, however, I set it so that I take even 4x the usual amount of damage, forcing me to plan my attacks and blocks carefully, and rely heavily on a possible follower or atronach.

Expert difficulty is plenty on a no crafting build, I've tried Master and Legendary and it just seemed tedious, as all it added was more health, but I thank you for your suggestion of SkyTweak. As for the other mod, as cool as it sounds, I'm not a Nexus user. Don't get me wrong, Nexus is great, I just don't use it. Besides, I'm not much of a cart user. I had my horse by level 1. 1000 septims is easy to raise.
Skyrimnut, you stated in your original post that you don't do enchanting and then later state you only use filled soul gems you find. I take it you use them to recharge already enchanted weapons you find or purchase?

Yep, that's what I meant. Only to recharge weapons, but to be honest, I've favoring unenchanted weapons right now because of Elemental Fury. I'm saving filled soul gems for end game weapons that do more damage.

I saw that one, but opted for a mod that was more generic instead. Thanks for suggesting it though.
lol me too

This mod works fairly well if you want to remain from switching characters. I use it quite often, and it doesn't break my game when doing so.

Thank you, but like I've said before, I don't use Nexus. Sounds like a good mod though.

Lol, multiple doggies makes things a quite laggy in Breezehome, but that was because I was encumbered. Once I sorted my stuff, things went back to normal.

Will deliver construction supplies to the Retirement home and purchase logs when I resume play. Construction won't begin until the build is nearly finished.
Ha, excellent! Have you read the in-game book about an assassin with an axe? Can't remember the title.

I think so, I've read most of the books in the game. It sounds familar. For now, I'll probably start with Volendrung, and possibly risk Liar's retreat for the Long Warhammer. That weapon with Elemental fury is pretty sweet. Then, I go get the Ebony blade for the rest of the jobs. Wuthraad would also make an appearance for any elves. Haha, for the wedding I have something special planned. :D

Lol, a funny thing happened on the way to get another Totem of Hircine. Valtheim towers was on the way, so I decided to have Damien clear it in beast form. He walks up to the Bandit and she initiates dialogue threatening him to pay the toll. Uh... you do realize you are speaking to a werewolf who will mostly likely kill you then eat you, right? :)

I did admire her bravery. I chose the "I have no money" option. Technically true, as I can't really access my inventory in Beast form. She attacked. Mr. Meric then had breakfast. Haha, next time, I'll have the werewolf give the money. :D: Then have breakfast. 200 septims is worth a good laugh.
Bandits are really stupid in this game just killed a dragon with a deadric greatsword next thing a thief who wants my money I mean I just killed a dragon why would he think I give him the money .... As a thief I would think ... Oh crap he just killed a dragon better not mess with him ... not in this game.

Hahaha, that's a good one. I love them. You know, really, the Dovahkiin is only a stone's throw from a bandit. Hello? Kill people for money, rob, join the Thieves Guild, do anything if the coin is good enough. The only separatation is that the Dovahkiin is SMART enough to do it for the right people. :)

Hahaha, there is a reason why Mr. Meric lives a life of comfort at a suped up Breezehome while they are dwelling in caves and abandoned ruins and forts. Smarts.
