A thought about our fanbase.

I am becoming convinced that once ESVI is announced, the fans are going to automatically hate it, simply because we are so obsessed with hating everything that isn't Pre-Morrowind due to all the Hipster nonsense that infects our fanbase.

No. But when people praise Morrowind for features that do not exist, I'm pretty sure it's safe to call that Hipster nonsense.

Fair enough. I don't see many people claiming Skyrim was "♥♥♥♥" when it came out. Everyone was super hyped from what I remember. It just could not live up to the hype, it was way, way, overhyped.

I have no issue with people calling Morrowind good, I've just met far too many people who get into that whole scene who seem to be blindly praising it for features it does not have. I'm convinced that half of them haven't played the game, and I am convinced they are going to automatically hate all future games because somewhere along the way, they were convinced that the cool kids only like Morrowind.

I think Morrowind is the best TES game by far, and I played it after Oblivion and Skyrim. So it's not just nostalgia or just being "hipster" as it's quite fresh in my memory.

I adore all the games myself, and they each have features I love.

People will hate it if they dumb it down too much, or make the combat silly anime-style, things like that. If they are smart and keep it more or less in the line of TES III-IV-V it will be great.
I have played all three and love them all. Morrowind is better roleplaying, but Skyrim is better gaming, with Oblivion falling in between. I love all three.

Well I'm quite looking forward to what they will do with the next entry, now that it's a new generation of consoles. Their number one priority should be ditching their gamebryo engine. That ♥♥♥♥'s gotta go.

Changes are always good, no game is perfect. But many changes they have made from the earlier games to the later ones have massively downgraded certain aspects of their games. I hate to use this term, but it does feel "dumbed down" in some ways.
