Sorry, did I need to use smaller words? Are you not talking about playing Skyrim using M+K?
I don't know about smaller words, but you might have use for better manners.
I think you have just missed the ingame menu Controls, where you can switch them around. It should work for both mouse and controllers.

I only have one mouse? I control one hand with one finger, and the other hand with the other finger.
Is this atypical?
(Also, yes, you can change the controls, although I just kind of got used to it, and it makes a certain amount of sense, in that I use the mouse button I use most frequently in general mouse usage to attack and the mouse button I use less frequently to block. Although it is confusing if you use e.g. a spell or another weapon in your off hand.)
Oh, wait, are you talking about using the keyboard to control the other hand? That seems even sillier, although if it works for you, great. I use my left hand to move my character around and my right hand to control their hands and where they look.
Using my left hand to control the left hand is silly? You yourself said that using your right hand (and I assume RMB) to control the left hand is confusing. I don't suffer from that confusion.
just saying...
edit: i was too slow, Ref already pointed that out.
but you cant blame the devs, i think much more people would have problems if it was the other way around actually, since pc gamers are "trained" this way.
Keeping controls where I have used to keep driving controls in other games is way more practical than reaching over and around my keyboard. So, it is a personal flavor.
And I do call you out for insulting other players of their preferred gameplay configurations. I didn't realize that there was an (srangely unique) orthodox method of configurating your game, and asking help from dedicated forum is now considered as idioticy.
There is an ingame configuration page for that.
Your right hand is your primary, it holds your main weapon or attack. Left click is the primary mouse button. It makes perfect sense for these to go together. Conversely, your left hand is your secondary holding a shield or used to block.
Well, I meant it's confusing for the first few hours, after that I got used to it. I just can't quite picture how you're fighting or whatever with the hand you generally would be using for the WASD and other things - my keyboard hand is busy enough, I don't feel the need to give it partial control over combat as well. What does your LMB do?
Basically, what crapmonster says above. (Isn't it weird how they let you use a naughty word in your screen name but not in posts?) My left hand controls movement, shouts and menu functions, and keys which bring up things like the HUD. My right hand does the fighting and looking around. It works nicely. Within the right hand's functionality I have one finger which 'works' the mouse button that is generally used in most programmes as the main button, and this corresponds to the main hand (given all Tamriel humanoids are apparently right handed) and one finger which 'works' the less commonly used/doing something slightly more unusual button, and this corresponds to my character's 'off' hand.
I can of course get used to shooting arrows with the right mouse button instead of the left, and stuff like that, but do you see what I mean?
I was hoping for a mod (or something else, I don't really know what I'm looking for) that was directly adressing this thing.
Do you still think it feels "normal" when you equip one sword in each hand, and are using the Right mouse button to attack with your Left hand, and the Left mouse button to attack with your Right hand?
