Actually, Ulfric Stormcloack is just another puppet of the Thalmor. All the Thalmor want is violence and unrest in Skyrim and I would rather have a secret Talos worshipper (Elisif) on the throne than a puppet of the Thalmor. If you actually concentrate on what the Imperials have to say about the Thalmor you would realise that most if not all Imperials vehemontly hate the Thalmor. Furthermore, the Great War might have ended but it is quite apparent that another conflict is brewing between the Thalmor and the Empire and having Skyrim split from the Empire is sureley not going to help things.

God not another thread .... 2 big faults in the name hedavar come on also ralof is written wrong. Then the question 1 answer is for instance not if the empire has anything to say I don't want Ulfric to be high king ... well if you choose that it's obvious isn't it, but nooo after that more questions.

Hmm, I'm surprised so many answers for Imperial. I have to admit, I keep intending to see what the story is like to be an Imperial, but instead I choose Stormcloak every time. Ulfric Stormcloak did not "murder" the High, King he challenged him for leadership of Skyrim in a fair duel per Nordic custom (this is all found in game conversations).

He had the cajones to ride into Solitude all alone and challenge him for leadership of Skyrim. that was his right as a Jarl to do so. The Empire acted cowardly when they gave in at the White-Gold Concordat, and ultimately it is part of the elves plan to destroy and subjugate the humans by destroying their divine support. Have to account for the fact that the heavenly powers have a direct hand in the affairs of Tamriel. The Elves were winning the war, but Tamriel was far from conquered.

I can see a Skryim emerging united under Ulfric's leadership, with The Companions reforming the 500 leading the charge, and supported by the new Arch Mage, (who happens to be really ticked off at the Elves for the assassination of their previous Arch Mage and the near destruction of their home by one of the Thalmor's agents, launching a new offensive directly into the Summerset Isles to kick their arses!

The Nords (without the help of the Empire, by the way) beat the Elves on Solstheim and slew their Ice Prince, and by golly the will again!

(LOL I love getting into the passion of the roleplaying of it, makes the game really fun :) )

I play Imperials but only until the Cougar in Dawnstar takes over as Jarl of the Pale. I once finished as an Imperial but hated installing Maven B***H Brier as Jarl in Riften.
