Not dumb. confused an ignorant of the differences is all. I made the same mistake when I first read about ESO on the forums and thought they were still talking about Skyrim since it was the skyrim forums(discussion) I was reading and responding to. The Title "Elder Scrolls" is part of the game series. So people will associate anything with that as "THE GAME" whether it is -morrowind, oblivion,skyrim, ETC...... and the the online ESO as all the same.

I would have said genuine mistake except Ubisoft...I think are not involved in either game?
In any case, if they bought Skyrim from the Steam store it quite clearly says it's Skyrim and it's a single player game and doesn't say anything to suggest otherwise, so let this be a lesson in reading product information before you buy.

You my friend got Skyrim:Elder Scroll you bought the wrong one but no worries you can go to their website and there supposted to be a online skyrim which you need to pay for of course.

Come on now, don't you think the OP should just call Ubisoft and ask them why their version of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is so much like the version Bethesda made and ask them why it doesn't have the MMO options of Zenimax Online Studios version of the Elder Scrolls Online. I'm sure that would be a great conversation. Here is a link to the phone numbers so the OP can call them at the correct number for his/her region.
