Steam Login
I am having an issue with Steam not recognizing my computer if I don't log in for two or more days and it prompts me for a code they send by email. I have to enter the code, name my computer (Steam_Sucks these last 30 times) and click the submit button.

Does anyone know why steam is so forgetful?

Don't save account credentials on this computer is unchecked. I'm not seeing, probably overlooking, the SteamGuard option.

When I put Steam in Online mode I finally saw the Steam Guard option your talking about. Its been active since February. However, I do my best to keep Steam offline as much as I can. I really dislike the 10 to 20 minute verification every reboot, and the bandwidth it uses while its online.

10 to 20 minutes..?

Steam verification only flashes itself in my computer and then client window jumps open.
Either you are running with extremely low connection or there is something very wrong with it.

Are you sure that all your internet settings are correct?

Verification of installation. Hard drive would be the bottleneck.

Ah, yes. I misunderstood.

The reason I mentioned the bandwidth it uses while its in online mode, is while its not a huge hit, its enough to affect my online gaming, usually the difference between who gets the first shot off. No advertising client deserves that much of my resources constantly.

Sometimes existing STEAM after inputting the code, then relaunching STEAM will work.

This used to happen to me some time ago, as I would never actually shutdown STEAM but would shutdown Windows. For some reason, doing the above method worked.
