finish quest blindsighted

i cannot finish the quest blindsighted, i have killed mercer, got the eyes of the falmer bla bla bla... and now i am at the regged flagon and trying to turn in the left eye of the falmer and the bust of gray fox.
but this does not work. delvin just sits there and i am not able to talk to him. he just says that people are talking about the guild again and that he has a special job.... but when i press a to really talk to him nothing happens.
can anyone please help me? i dont want to do this whole quest again.
if you have a solution that involves the command console, pls describe it step by step, i am completely new to this.

Did you talk to Karliah in Bronze Water Cave? (exiting Irkngtand statue room)
And did you loot skeleton key from Mercers corpse?
This should start the next quest - Darkness returns.

Litany of larceny...its always been bugged for me if I turn in the items too soon.

(I think best to load a save from before you picked up the eye, because of both quests, after you picked up the eye LIL becomes uncompleteable, and you were also supposed to talk to Karliah shortly after....maybe others have better soulutions though)

If Delvin (or any NPC is being silly) try quicksaving, kill them and then quickload. Apparently as I understand it makes them reset or something, if it doesnt work at least you get out a little frustration :p

I solved it. The problem was: I activated one of delvin's "special jobs" before I started this mission. So I just finished this mission (in whiterun for the battle borns) and after that everything was ok.

Skyrim is buggy even after some of the unofficial patches, but I'll be darn if I will stop playing because of them. Skyrim is my home now.
