This is going to get seriously tested later tonight. I have two games going on. Other is my main character, with ligh(ish) saves. Other is heavy with WIP mod script traces and other stuff.

If this tool can clean up latter, then we have a party time.

Like Ref sometime tonight I'll be trying this out on my old save made way before I knew how to use mods without breaking Skyrim, if it can fix that old save, it should work on anyone's!

Well I used the cleaner on that old save and it worked like a charm! I played that character for 2 hours and had no problems or CTD's at all. If you all have a broken save this might just fix yours too.

Drat, the character I'd most like to try this on is long enough ago that I have no clue which mods were installed then... On the other hand, I guess there's not much to lose if it doesn't work...

As the creator of a mod that includes a script, let me point out that it's impossible for the mod author to delete a script out of a save file when the mod is removed. Most of the time the script will be harmless, but sometimes it's not. This is not because we are lazy, it's because it's impossible.

This is why you always make a clean save before you try out a mod, why you go back to the clean save if you don't like it, and why if you do like it you have to keep the mod for the life of your character.
