Load Order
I have a few mods and want to know if I am doing this right, I have Vanilla Skyrim, Dragonborn, Hi-Res Texture Pack Official, Unofficial Skyrim Patch, Unofficial Dragonborn Patch, Unofficial Hi-Res Patch, Temptress Race and the ApachiiSkyHair mod. These are my load orders

Unofficial Skyrim Patch
Dragonborn
Unofficial Dragonborn Patch
Hi-Res Texture 1
Hi-Res Texture 2
Hi-Res Texture 3
Unofficial Hi-Res Patch
ApachiiHair
Temptres Race

Do I have the correct load order? I think I do but would like a 2nd opinion.

yes

No. If I recall right, Apcachii hair is ESM-file (note, that I might remember wrorng.) All 3rd party ESM files should come prior of Hi-Res Texture packs, after DLCs and Unofficial patches related to them.

If Apachii hair is ESM, it should be between Unofficial Dragonborn Patch and Hi-Res Texture 1.

Should look like this:

Skyrim.esm
Update.esm
Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp
Dawnguard.esm
Unofficial Dawnguard Patch.esp
Hearthfires.esm
Unofficial Hearthfire Patch.esp
Dragonborn.esm
Unofficial Dragonborn Patch.esp
HighResTexturePack01.esp
HighResTexturePack02.esp
HighResTexturePack03.esp
Unofficial High Resolution Patch.esp

All other ESMs go right below those. Unless there is a conflict between the USKPs n another mod. I'll leave it at that.. don't want to get on Ref's nerves again. :x

The correct order is:

Skyrim.esm
Update.esm
USKP
Dawnguard.esm
UDGP
Hearthfires.esm
UHFP
Dragonborn.esm
UDBP
[Other ESMs]
Official hi-res DLC
UHRP
[Other ESPs]

Edit: Alkapz. You are not getting on my nerves. I just hope that you would actually bother to research these things, before presenting them as facts.

This is the order presented by guys working with Unofficial Patches. It is considered as proper order to prevent game breaking glitches, like unability to consume dragon souls.

If you want to properly sort your load order, download BOSS (Better Oblivion Sorting Software) from Nexus Mods.

BOSS is a reliable way to set it straight without having to clutter up the forums here. We can happily answer your question this time, but in the long run it will be easier on you and us if you get BOSS and don't ask about load orders here.

The patches work as esm's now though they are really esp's. The way they have been set up they must follow their respective ESM as Ref as stated.

Ref... owned Skyrim since release.. played 1.4K hours, contributed to Master_Dan's post on numberous occations.. modded Oblivion, Tomb Raider 2 (on release) Morrowind (when released) Modded Half-Life 2, Half-Life 1, all near release. own 1K+ games.. research extensively.. endorsed 743 mods on Nexus.. downloaded and played well with LL mods, contributed to helping modders there.. etc. If that isn't enough... let me know.

Also the order I gave was directly from here:

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/19/

"After installing the individual mods, the following general load order needs to be followed:

Skyrim.esm
Update.esm
Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp
Dawnguard.esm
Unofficial Dawnguard Patch.esp
Hearthfires.esm
Unofficial Hearthfire Patch.esp
Dragonborn.esm
Unofficial Dragonborn Patch.esp
HighResTexturePack01.esp
HighResTexturePack02.esp
HighResTexturePack03.esp
Unofficial High Resolution Patch.esp

For getting load order set with other mods loaded, please use BOSS. It will provide you a solid starting point for everything that you can then tweak as needed."

Why don't you open the same link that you provided and see the pinned post? You will notice that my order is actually correct.

Apparently you haven't ever bothered to look at the loading order provided by BOSS. ESM files are placed as I described.

Also NMM forces the position of ESM files, as described.

Launcher allows the wrong positinoning of ESM files, because it does not understand Unofficial patches. Players can hurt their game by creating a wrong load order for their mods.

I am not trying to compete with you. It is good that you try to provide help for other players. But, you are obviously stubborn enough not to actually make sure if you are right or wrong.

In that case not of your statics have any value: you are giving harmful advices to another player. Maybe you are too proud of your game statics to admit the possibility that you might be wrong.

I was wrong based on not reading far down enough.

I was not wrong in saying that the USKP uses scripts to fix issues... in a heavily modded game those scripts CAN be an issue if uninstalled. ergo broken save game. Was that wrong? That was my other post was about.. the compatibility issue of the USKP because it uses so many scripts. Wrong? no.

What the hell are you talking about? I do not see any script talk in this thread. If there has been such a talk in other thread, then don't confuse others by bringing it over here.

I vaguely recall another topic about scripts. Someone seemed to have serious problems to understand the difference between new scripts and replacement scripts. I guess it was you then.

If you wisth continue that kind of conversation, then make another thread. You don't need to spam GhostMotleyX's annoucment count with it.

No, you were wrong in posting an incorrect load order and insisting that it was indeed correct. The fact that you did not actually read your source was a palm-in-the-face noobish moment. That bad. We have all at some time done something similar.. apologize and move on. I know I have learned or have been reminded by the conversation to more carefully check my sources.
