Does Skyrim Remind You of the tale of King Author
Historians say that king Author arose from a ancient here 1000 years before rome aka. the Dark Ages. Skyrim almost feels like im that ancient hero, anyone else get this?

..i think you've been watching too much Stargate- because there's no historical evidence whatsoever, that King Arthur ever existed.

No, I didn't get that impression at all.

Your understanding of history and legends are all confused. For example, the Dark Ages followed the fall of Rome. That is why it was "dark", the light that was Rome was lost to the world.

You can try to play as a young Arthur if you want to though, there might even be a sword in a stone for you to find. If not, I'm sure there is a mod for that.

You'll also need mods for having multiple followers, etc. Arthurian legends are a huge part of the fantasy genre and there will likely be obscure references to it throughout a game like this.

The cool part is that you can do whatever you like with your game and play it any way you choose.

No, it doesn't feel like Arthurian legend to me. Even superficially it is lacking most of the stock cast; the knight errant, the love interest, the betrayer, etc.

Only King Author around here is Todd Howard. Skyrim does remind me about him.
That propably makes James Ohlen as Emperor Author of PCRPGs.

I'm sorry you didn't appreciate it. Here's some more helpful information you probably won't like: "Author" is a word for a writer who publishes their work. "Arthur" is a legendary King of Britain.

Make a King Author mod.

I watched a video on Youtube last night which showed off a large mod called Rochester which appeared to be heavily inspired by Arthurian myth. However it does seem to only be in German and doesn't seem to be on Nexus at present.

To be honest, no. It owes far more to Tolkien and Norse mythology in general, and a bit of Roman Empire thown in.

Arthur was probably based on a real person, in the period after Rome and before the Anglo-Saxons took over the land but the earliest stories are nothing like the later, medieval embellishments we're familiar with.

Uhm, the Dark Ages (5th to 15th century AD) do *not* precede Rome - not the Empire (27 BC - 500 AD) and certainly not the Roman Republic (500 BC - 27 BC).

Arthur 'existed' in the late 5th to early 6th century AD - kinda right smack at the beginning of the Dark Age. As a matter of fact, Britain used to be *part* of the Roman Republic until less than a century before the events of Arthurian legend take place.

But other than that, sure Skyrim is a lot like Arthurian Britain.

Well, except for the Scandinavian influences.
Oh, and the widespread use of magic (Arthur is a *low* fantasy setting, Skyrim is high fantasy)
Also, the elves
And the lack of a guy who gets a sword from a strange lady lying in a pond and becomes king - that's no basis for a system of government.
Well, there's also the lack of questing knights.
An over abundance of dragons.

So sort of not like Arthurian legend at all actually.

Nope, not really. This is Nirn, not Earth.
