a girls opinion : Bloodskall blade is pretty awesome.. and i just love the ebony mail.. it just looks epic.. Dawnbreaker i like as well.. since its esiaclly good against undead and it looks nice
i fancy the good old leather armor and platemail, not kidding, i dont care much for efficiency
as for swords, ebony sword looks nice, also like the nightingale sword

Get Hothtrooper's Immersive Armors mod, it puts everything else to shame. My favorite armor from that whole mod is the Warchief armor.

Why is everybody so keen on those immersive weapons and and armor ... I mean it's a compilation from different mods and let's face not all are that great. For instance there are blades in immersive weapons that are Fugly ... ulgly textures, no blood on the blades on some weapons ... clearly a pack that has more quantity then quality imho. My main question with that pack is still: Who needs 1000 or more weapons or gear? Personally I use just a few weapon mods and armor mods. and yes I used also those immersive packs ... however it still illudes me what is so immersive on that mod ...

Because it's kind of un-immersive when every single bandit you come across has one of two or three armour types (fur/hide/iron, then it gets a bit better once you start to level up so they are maybe in studded/steel, etc) much nicer to see a wider assortment, I think.

Unfortunately I seem to be having a bit of trouble with the SkyRe Reproccer thing, I've been getting the odd item of armour on an enemy/in a chest showing up with 0 armour rating. May have to reinstall :/
Maybe so, but I raided a silver-hand stronghold and 5 men had Falreath armor on ... that's immersive and very unlikely and You'd clearly not played far enough with vanilla ... further in the game you get enough high rated armor (ebony, nordic, etc)... not in the beginning true. If you want some more random loot you should try Dynamic loot: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/42662/?

A very good weapon and a shield mod is skyforge weapons and skyforge shields ... however you must be a companion.

mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/36815/? and http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/26344/?
Heh, no, I've played plenty far enough along to come across opponents with fancier armour (that was what the etc was with the levelling up comment, didn't think an entire list was needed), my point was it's still basically a small number of types of armour (IME once they start having Nordic they'll have long ago stopped having iron and possibly steel, etc). I've never come across silver hand wearing guard armour, modded or not.
Well I uninstalled both, because I got occasionally ctd's that stopped the fun for me after those 2 were gone never had a ctd again. however I still find those 2 have far to much armors and weapons for my liking

Fair enough, you certainly don't have to like it - was just offering an explanation as to why it's described as immersive (which may not be the 'official' one, ofc).
For crafting, I like Dwarven armor. Easy to craft, easy to reach the armor cap with good perk selection and a quest, and it is shiny and you feel like a bad*** in it. At least I do anyway. For just being pretty, Stahlrim light for light and Nordic carved for heavy and pretty.

Lol, but seriously, good armor is any armor that you find that is better than the one you're wearing. Good weapons are any weapons that you find that are better than the ones you're currently carrying.
im a big fan of Dawnbreaker. This is reward for doing the meridia daedric quest. Its an awesome weapon vs undead, dragon priests, vampires etc.. Even against non undead it does fire damage so its also great against trolls and ice wraiths and well anyone.

Assuming you can keep leveling it with blacksmithing improvements of course.

Also even if you are roleplaying a good character Meridia is one of the "nicer" daedras, so its not really comprimisng the character / power gaming.

orc armour is easy to get if...
you help an orc on a quest and he brothers you. (theres an orc miner near markath with a quest to kill bandits for example)
then you can enter all orc strongholds and get them marked on the map for you. All the strongholds have an orichlamium mine.

ebony looks the coolest though
