Why Morrowind is so expensive in steam shop, even after all those years??

Hello.

I already have Morrowind with all official dlc on a PC I bought back in time and I wanted to get it for steam so I wouldn't have all that headache with CD input and my cd has been scrached unfortunatelly since then. However, the price for Morrowind in steam is outrageous large, which is 429 roubles, almost same as skyrim! Things goes worse for oblivion and it's more expensive than Skyrim which is 549 roubles...

I understand that this game is still all good and people still enjoying it, but I don't understand why it would go for that price while I got an 3 CD antology with Morrowind and all dlc for just 299 roubles which back in time was less than 10$.

Nowadays I see Morrowind goty edition with all antologies in official game/cd shops just for 149-199 roubles, but they do not meant for steam however and still could request CD to play the game...

So I ask you, what is so especial about Morrowind on steam?? I really wish to get this old good game to beat it again and enjoy the nostalgia. If anyone know a good sites where I could get cheap Morrowind or Oblivion keys for steam or copies for steam, or if anyone know where currently disciounts for those games, please tell me.

I see Morrowind GOTY listed at $19.99 USD, which is only 2/3s the cost of Skyrim, and 1/3rd the cost of Skryim Legendary edition. I'm also seeing it for the same price at Gamestop.com. But only $11 for the CDROM version at Amazon.com.

Well... Maybe this game will get like 50-75% discounts any time soon in steam shop? I'm curious if you know a way to see discount shelude for a certain game.

Well, it's possible it will go on sale when ESO gets released? Maybe. Probably not, though. Honestly, I have never seen it drop below the current price on Steam, at least not in the past year.

But why it wouldn't? I've seen this game much cheaper anywhere in shop, but only for steam it stays that expensive...

I can't answer that one; I have no idea how Steam determines their prices. I would say your best bet to get the Steam version on sale is to wait until sometime closer to the release of ESO. I will hope that it goes on sale for you, because everyone deserves to play this game as often as they can.

I'd say look forward to the next QuakeCon (around July 17-20 2014).

Bethesda games have a habit of going on sale when this event happens.

And I have to agree, Bethesda games don't go on sale very often on Steam. These are the kind of games that took years to develop. But still, look at it this way; you're probably going to play this game for a long time. It's worth every penny.

Lastly, if you ever want to play Skywind, you'll need Morrowind.

i think only hope of it going on sale, and this is a long stretch, unless as someone guessed, ESO release would affect it, but my assumption would be when that time comes (which i hear is April for ESO release date), there may be some sort of Bethesda Weekend sale, as we have seen with the likes of Capcom or Square Enix and such

I've already played Morrowind as I already mentioned. It's just it wasn't steam, which is where all headache comes.

And from what I've heard, Skywind will not require any game besides Skyrim and it will be pretty much free for everone. Maybe that's why it already have so many fans. :P
