seriouse question regarding playing with mouse
Ive never played with a mouse and want to so i can make use of the extra hot keys. However i find I have to keep lifting the mouse and replacing it in the centre of the mat if im in a fight and turning a lot.

is this normal? also panning the camera doesnt seem to ba as smooth on mouse. does it affect frame rate

I've experienced it a little bit with my current mouse which was cheap as dirt and probably needs replacing (just a stop-gap after my last one got lost falling out of a pocket or something). If you've got a cheap/old mouse, it's probably worth upgrading - doesn't have to be fancypants, my last mouse worked great, and it was only about ten or fifteen pounds.

I guess. I have to center my mouse but I never notice because I'm so used to it. Really, the only reason I noticed is because you brought it up, haha.

Maybe you've set your mouse sensitivity far too low for what you'd like, if you've having to always be moving the mouse back to centre you're doing too much tracking with the mouse, I have my sensitivity set fairly high, which at first is overkill, but after getting use to it I only need to move the mouse a few centimetiers in each direction to do everything i ever need.Though if you have a mouse like mine, that you can set it to a specific DPI, I wouldn't go much over 800-1200 because otherwise you're moving too much.

you can try change mousspeed or mouse DPI.

You also are just not used to it, you wuill start lifting it automatically without thinking or noticing it.
You should see me on a controller, i cant even play games like GTA with a controller because i cant aim with it, not even autoaim is gonna help me when i have a controller instead of mouse.

Thanks everyone for the tips, sinc posting I tweaked some things to give me constant 60fps (it was jumping 50-60 before) and thats helped a lot and am starting to get used to it.

how can i change the dpi? in normal windows mouse settings i only see speed and such and have that on max as well as the in game sensitivity.

Are using a "ball" mouse? Look at the bottom of it. If so, it needs to cleaned. If so, you should get an optical one. Mo better.

What model are you using? Some have manual DPI switch or control software. You may also try this: LINK[pattersonsupport.custhelp.com].

Technical specifications of your mouse state that the DPI is 1000 max and it is not adjustable, therefore Windows settings may be the only option.

Whoa, do folks still use those things? I consider myself half-a-ludite who is about fifteen years behind my society and I haven't touched a mouse with a ball for about ten years...lol

Those are one step up from a joystick with one button!

I actually nearly mentioned it but then realised if *I* (not exactly a luddite, but hardly a gadget-fiend either) haven't used one in a few years, surely I would be laughed out of court for even mentioning such outmoded things...

Rather than laugh at someone, I'm more inclined to donate the optical mice on leashes I have no use for. Just the thought of someone playing video games on such old equipment makes me a little sad.

I do sort of miss the little ritual of cleaning them out, though (although it was a little gross if you thought about how they got gakked up in the first place...)
