Mod load order.
I'm sure this has been asked numerous times, in various threads...but can anyone point me somewhere that has a comprehensive list of the load order. I have all the DLC, and I'm slowly getting over my fear of nexus mods. Another part of this question would be: I have some steam workshop mods, and some nexus mods. Is this going to present problems?
I also have SKSE, but until recently I haven't really used it much. Now that I'm nabbing lots of Nexus mods, I suppose I'm going to have to.

I fear that there isn't one. BOSS uses occasionally updated master list, so using that program really is the best source of proper load order for mods. It is true that it does not always get everything right, but that is as close we can get. Program does not adjust the data on it's own. Information is filled in by modders and (sometimes) involved users.

DLS + Unofficial Patch order is following:
Skyrim.esm
Update.esm
USKP
Dawnguard.esm
UDGP
Hearthfires.esm
UHFP
Dragonborn.esm
UDBP
[Other ESMs]
Official hi-res DLC
UHRP
[Other ESPs]

Read the discriptions of all the mods carefully. Some of the more popular ones will say where they should be in relation to each other. They can also have info about how BOSS handles them.

Hmm...I don't seem to have update.esm in my data files. Or Skyrim.esm. Ruh-roh

Dang, I can't activate Immersive Weapons. It's throwing an 'out of memory' error

when i used BOSS i noticed that Boss moves my Unoffical Skyrim patch to be below all other patches, plus D.L.C.'s and the Hi Res Texture pack + patch. I just move it back to where it should be, the very top of my Skyrim data file

You won't see those two files in your Skyrim Launcher, but you will in NMM, or in the Skyrim->Data folder on your hard-drive. :solitude:

Oh ok. They used to show up..maybe that was in CK...

BOSS 2.1.1 used to do that. Now it organizes files correctly again, at least my files seem to be in right order.

I think they dropped the support for a while, because of BOSS 3, but now the support seems to be working again.

Is BOSS a Nexus mod? I haven't looked for it because frankly, I hate the search engine on Nexus. Seems to be hit or miss.
gnewna 2014 年 3 月 6 日 上午 10:32
Is that via 'activate' on the NMM mod tab, and are you running 32bit Windows (or whatever it's called...)? If so, that's normal, it's just the files are too big for the NMM to be able to auto-activate them, but you can use 7-zip to extract them to your Data folder and then re-scan with NMM and tick them to activate. Make sure you run BOSS, and I find BOSS knows where to put one of the two IA files (called something starting with HothTrooper) but not the other, I just drag it up so it's just underneath the one BOSS sorted - NB I may have got this wrong, it's possible it should be above it, but I've not had any obvious issues with this.

If you're using SkyRe, you should probably also run the SkyRe Reproccer thingy, I've a feeling most of IA is actually set up to work with SkyRe, but the Reproccer thing makes sure that you get appropriate armour ratings and such for SkyRe's levels (generally armour ratings and weapons damage are both quite a lot higher in SkyRe).

(Blargh, just realised you said Immersive Weapons, same stuff basically applies, but things like the BOSS not recognising one of the files may be different!)

Really? I think it works well, but I always search major categories trough Google and then narrow it down in Nexus.

BOSS can be downloaded from it's home: http://boss-developers.github.io/

You can make a special file that BOSS looks at and goes 'oh, I should ignore this and leave it where it was'. I've got a couple of files that I *always* have to re-locate whenever I run BOSS, I keep meaning to add those in to the file, but I'm kinda scared to mess it up.

Gah! 7zip.. I don't have that. Does WinRAR work for this?
Draughir 2014 年 3 月 6 日 上午 10:39
And before I forget: Thank you everyone for the input! I'm kinda new to all this modding and whatnot.
gnewna 2014 年 3 月 6 日 上午 10:41
I know the feeling! I've read stuff that suggests if a file comes in .7z format you should really use 7-zip to extract it as it can cause corruption otherwise - I'm not sure how true that is, but I actually find 7-zip WAY more user-friendly than WinRAR, especially if I'm extracting multiple things to the same place, as with mods. You can download it for free http://www.7-zip.org/download.html (It also doesn't remind me that it's not free, and would I like to buy it now every single time I try to use it, like WinRAR does...)

I certainly have used WinRAR to extract mods in a .7z format and I never *noticed* any issues, but it's not always obvious until it's way too late, so I prefer to err on the side of caution.

7zip is Open Source program, with GNU LGPL license. Unlike WinRar, it is free. There is no reason not to grap it, is there?

Edit: Seeing how gnewna just beat me to it, you have plenty of help here. Don't worry, if you are new to this modding and whatnot- thing. ;)
