The skyrim workshop has a size limit on mod files, and Skywind is a huge mod. It's not finished yet anyways. :U

Skywind must weight as much as Skyrim! It can't even be uploaded to Nexus.

1. Its not done.
2. It will never be on the Workshop since it is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay over the size limit Workshop allows for uploading.

Yes Morrowind is 1 of the best RPG in gaming history. The way of how Morrowind was created is awesome. You know, Morrowind wasn't on the map at the very begining of Nirn...
But about Skywind there are 2 problems to get it:

1. According with the website you must own and install Morrowind, including the Tribunal and Bloodmoon expansions. At least you already have them.
2. Its not available to download right now. The reason? They said "at this stage, Skywind is not available for public release anymore, due to its very alpha state". Soooo its not beta anymore??

Beta comes *after* alpha.

You should tell them instead. The BETA version was released months ago and now its unavailable because now they've made the ALPHA version. They brought the beta before the alpha.

You need morrowind itself as well, so just Subing from the workshop will not download the entire thing.

1: it's not completed and for sure will take several months at least.

2: it has a huge size that can't fit in the workshop

3: there are copyright problems. Although it requires Skyrim + Morrowind (with Bloodmoon and Tribunal), all owned and installed in order to run, still Skywind is the copyright grey area (at least). Bethesda has forbidden the release on ufficial forums, steam, and even nexus has made an agreement to not host it. If/when it will be completed it will be downloadable only from their site (just type skywind on google). And the installatio process will be very laborous.

No. The installation process is a breeze.

Download .zip containing the master and .esp
Run NMM
Drag and drop the .zip over to NMM
Double-click on the mod in NMM to activate it
Wait until it installs
Play the game.

Ran across this topic on the TES Renewal Project website a few months ago. Its content gave me hope about Skywind.

Hi there. Matt from from Bethesda here. We're definitely aware of the project. Someone pointed me to this thread so I thought I'd clarify for you guys.

The policy has always been that you cannot take assets from one of our games and put it in another game... even if that game is one of ours (Morrowind to Oblivion, Fallout 3 to Fallout: New Vegas, etc). Assets could be sound files, meshes, textures, etc. As such, we've closed down discussion in our official forums in the past.

If you're creating assets "inspired" by Morrowind (or another game), that's generally okay.

If you're using existing meshes as placeholders, it's not something that could be discussed in our forums.

Thanks

Note the "inspired" towards the end of the post. Similar to changing the format of a picture on an image board (i.e. adding a single black dot on a pic), you change one facet of an original texture (a polygon, a color hue, etc.) and it becomes something unbound by the original owner's copyright... and so long as the author (of the "new texture") claims inspiration from the old. Add to the fact that all of the work for Skywind is beign performed by unpaid volunteers for a project that will (hopefully) be nonprofit, I don't think Bethesda will get involved.

At least not on our level. Those artists on the Renewal Project however might find their inboxes filled with job offers for TES Online/VI
