dark brotherhood character from Anne Rice novel
anyone else notice that the little vampire girl is named after a character in interview with a vampire and also because she resembles Cludia in the same book? I am currently reading interview with a vampire and instantly made the connection between skyrim and the book I am reading.

I noticed that too. If it was intentional, then it's not surprising. A lot of developers and writers borrow and pay homage in some way to their favorite characters. I wrote a piece where one of the main character's associates was totally based on Vin Diesel's Riddick. I even thought of Vin Diesel when I described him. He didn't have Riddick's 'shine job' but I gave him Riddick's attitude and personality. One of the characters in my fan-fic for Skyrim is loosely based on Riddick as well. Ok.. so I'm a little obsessed with that character. ;)

There are pletifull of of refrences and themes in skyrim tough. either intentional, or by accident: like if you read a book as a child and just remember something distant and reading it as an idea.

I have no idea what im talking about. My dead grandpa makes me do things sometimes, i understand if you dont believe me.

if people can believe in a god or gods why not the spiritual, ghostly side of things? I have over 700 hours on this game and seen the movies 2 decades ago and am now reading the book and just made the connection.

Eh? Her name was Claudia, not Babette.

I don't want to spoil the book for you but....

N.B. the book is a classic, the film is crap.

Probably an easter egg or reference, there's also a minecraft reference somewhere too amongst others. I think it's up on the skyrim wiki, you can check it out but there might be spoilers heh

"Resembles Claudia"?

All female children in Skyrim look almost exactly the same.

Well, there's a Babette in IWAV, I wouldn't say Babette in the DB is much like Claudia, from what I remember, Claudia hated being trapped in a childish body, whereas Babette seems to enjoy it...

Babette was the name of a character in the interview with a vampire novel. the girl vampire in the novel was named Claudia and was about 5 years old. the name of the vampire girl in the game is Babette and is like 8 or so it looks like. both the name of the character and the little vampire girl idea came from the book interview with a vampire.

everyone my whole point was they took the name of a character from the book and they took the idea of a vampire little girl from the book. that is two ideas they took from one book in the game of skyrim. I thought it a fun little side note to the game that I did not know until I started reading the book interview with a vampire. has anyone else seen anything else from the book in the game? or what other books might they have barrowed ideas from?

It could be also that these are just general themes that get recreated. Anne Rice was hardly the first person to write a vampire novel, and I'm sure she wasn't the first to have a child vampire. Even if she was, it doesn't mean anyone who wants to create a girl child vampire is copying the exact character from Anne Rice. As for Vin Diesel's Riddick, uh that character was hardly original either. A tough, kick ass, semi-good with semi-bad character with a past history is very common in movies, and stories. The point is that these are general themes that get used over and over again. The tough criminal who is actually a good guy underneath. The kick ass hot girl who uses guns and can beat up anyone in a street fight. You've seen them and will continue to see them in the future.

when the name Babette, who lived at the plantation up the road, was the name of the woman Luis was hitting on in the book and the child vapire just like in the book are used, two things from one book, it is kind of obvious that they took the idea directly from Anne Rice's INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE. I will admit there are coincidnces in the world but this was planned to be. the name of the little vampire in the game and fact that she is a small girl came from the book. if you do not believe me then do your own research. PEACE!

I think you are right, King... thought of the girl in the novel too. As a sidenote: there is another child character in my all time favorite Vampire movie, Near Dark. His name is Homer, he is about 12 or 13 years old, and constantly whining about being a man in a childs body. The movie is from 1987, and there is never a mention of the word vampire, nor the holy water or crucifix or garlic thing. Basically it is a road movie.
