Arrow bug
So I line up a show perfectly, loose my arrow and...it goes right through my target and hits the ground behind them dealing no damage. Only seems to happen when I'm moderately to extremely far from the target. Anyone know a fix for this?

there is no fix and not a bug its designed that way. Your not close enough silly. If mob is a inch too far it does no damage and is ignored.

There's an .ini edit that increases the range at which arrows will hit things.

The base game has arrows suddenly stop interacting with NPC's beyond a certain range.

Check out any of the 'improved archery' mods onthe Nexus for the .ini edit - you don't *need* to download their mods for this, only add the lines to your .ini.

In your skyrim.ini add this. Now you can snipe from long distances.

Thanks for the help. That's an interesting reason for the lack of damage. If they were going to do something like that, why not just limit the draw distance to the effective range of the arrows. That makes playing on max draw distance (which I do) as an archer useless from an offensive point of view.

Probably because Todd Howard doesn't want you to play Skyrim as anything other than a Heavy Armor user wielding a two-handed weapon - like in every trailer. Explains the arrow gimping, the decision to *not* allow skill level to affect magic use (like it does for all the other combat skills), the removal of spell creation, and 90% of the potential folowers in the vanilla game being heavy armor wearers that are useless accompanying a stealth-focused character.

Yeah, I and a lot of my friends who logged hundreds of hours on Oblivion were all very dissapointed in the magic system. Especially the lack of spell creation, as you say. This is also the reason why I pretty much never use followers, they just end up giving away my position. They're good as distractions and pack mules, nothing more.
