Dead Blood Dragons!
Hello! Ahem. Okay, I exited "The Bee and Barb", and there was a dead Blood Dragon near the town center, and the guards were talkign about it. I thought nothing of it, save who killed it, if it wasn't me, as I looted it and absorbed the soul. Well, just now, I accidently leaped off of a cliff while riding Frost. So I reloaded to a safe save. Heh. There was another dead Blood Dragon that wasn't there when I saved! Plus, there wasn't any loot to be looted, and I waited to absorb the soul, but nothing happened. Since Frost, my horse, and my guard dog are okay, I'll continue on. However, what I want to know is, what is causing dead or dying Blood Dragons to appear in such a way? It hasn't happened before with previous characters. I expect someone to mention a mod problem, but if it is a mod problem, I don't know which one it could be. I don't have any of the official DLC either, unless the Texture Patches count as such. I don't think of it as a problem per se. I'm just curious enough to want to know if others have experienced this too. So, as anyone else experienced it? Is there a need to resolve the matter, or is it harmless?

Maybe the blood dragons got sick and are dying. Maybe you should pray to Talos to help them.

Well, as an experiment, I resurrected it. Frost, my regular horse, my horse's guard dog, and myself, fought the Blood Dragon, but it wouldn't die. So I tried to use the KILL command, btu it didn't work. So I tried the DISABLE comman, but that didn't work either. So I reloaded. This time, the dead Blood Dragon was mostly in the ground. There was nothing to loot again, so I ignored it from then on, and I continued with my quest object. When I got to Luis (spelling?), to give Frost to him, another Blood Dragon appeared, this time alive, and it attacked, and we fought together and won. While I looted and absorbed the soul, he hopped on Frost and rode away. So I didn't get my chance to talk him into lettting me keep Frost. Oh well. He appeared to be riding her better than I could, because when I, or rather, my PC, rode her, my view was bareluy above ground, and I could see where Frost's hooves were going, so that's how I reined her about for control's sake.

Yes, sometimes dead dragons fall from the sky and you can absorb their souls and loot them. It's definitely a bug in the game, but rather than explain it, let's just call it a Blessing from Akatosh. I loot them, absorb their soul and move on. It doesn't really bother the game much. Anyway, also random dragon encounters can glitch certain quests. The Frost one being one of them. Book of Love can also be affected.
Had something like that once.

When i was hurrying to my wedding. Ghorbash The Iron Hand, my follower got killed by a bunch of bandits near Riften.

Well to be honest it was not really completely bandits that killed him, i might, and i stress MIGHT have hit him couple of times with firebolt during an extremely confusing mélee.

MIGHT have!

Good old Ghorbash being loyal to the death and apparently beyond, kept on following me.

Well... not so much following, more like his limp corpse kept teleporting behind me along with a sound of body hitting ground.

It was beautifull wedding, everybody was there, including corpse of good old Ghorby.

Good times!

sometimes dead dragon bodies follow you.

Just disable them.

Whew! I'm relieved to know that it isn't just my problem only. I did try to disable one Blood Dragon while he was alive, since KILL didn't work on it. But DISABLE didn't either, so I had to reload a Save. This time I let it remain dead, rather than be greedy about souls. I didn't try to DISABLE it again either. Hmm. This seems like something worthy of an episode of, "COPS: Skyrim"! "We got a report of a dead Blood Dragon appearing out of nowhere in downtown Riften. We're on our way to investigate."
Use the "markfordelete" command instead. Instantly removes stray corpses.

Oh, I didn't think of that for them. Hmm. Maybe because I was leaving them for, decor? I don't know. But you're right, and that's a good idea, so thanks! :-) However, I'd still like to know the cause and if there's a fix for it somewhere.
