1. No Predators on Roads
2. Convenient Horse
The first will get rid of the con-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥-stant wolf attacks when riding down the road. Doesn't *remove* them, just moves their spawn points away from the roads.
The second allows you to make your horse either cowardly (will run away from combat instead of diving in like some sort of berzerkergang) and/or make the horse essential/invulnerable (your choice).
Also allows mounted charge attacks on your enemies.
You may have a problem with the install - did you clean the mod with TESVEdit? That sometimes makes changes to the size of the angle that marks allowable attack areas which makes attacks outside of a very narrow cone directly in front of the horse fail to do damage.
I check boss right after adding any mods. If I have a dirty edit I then run tesvedit.
the modders keep up a steady stream of new content that should keep you occupied.
There is a mod which lets you change the horses to cowardly so they run away instead but I can't remember its name. Someone will mention it.
Convenient Horses mayhaps?
Hehe, horse seeking missiles. I had a problem with that in oblivion but actually not in Skyrim. Only lost one horse I think.
