open documents/mygames/skyrim and look for skyrim.ini uncheck read only in it properties

My Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs are both able to be edited

then delete both and try again, dont worry the files will be regenerated.
you may need to run skyrim as admin

Okay that didn't work. But I went and messed around and deleted my save and all. Booted Skyrim up as Admin. I still had saves.... I am really confused. And the settings still wont change.

If you have an AMD graphics card use "RadeonPro" to create a profile . Nvidia owners should be checking options under 3D settings in their control panel. Set properly they master game settings through their API.

The saves are downloaded again because they are saved in the steam cloud. If you want them to be gone for good you need to go in game and delte them from there.
Also, where are you changing the settings from? The inis? The launcher? In game?

It is not the OP's "save games" but their video settings. It is really a file that should be created on launch but may be edited. The OP, as I understand the issue, is attempting to change some video settings and they revert to the original..hence the read only post/query.

I will check my 3d settings, and I got the saves deleted. But I was changing settings from the laucher. I dont know how to chage the over all quality ( Low, Medium, High, Ultra) from the .inis'.

BTW, why were you changing your graphics settings?

Because my friend was over and set them to Ultra to see how it ran. I normally run it on Medium just for the solid and constant framerate. And now it is stuck on Ultra and I only get like 10 frames per second, which I can not stand playing and it running like a potato.

Well, that is really bizarre then. Use steam to check the integrity of your skyrim files. A mod probably broke something.

I have done this multipule (poor spelling sorry) times and it only says something about a file being corrupt or missing or something and I cant ffigure out what it means. I will run it again and tell you exactly what it says.

It says " 2 files failed to validate and will be reaquired"
This is the first time it has said 2. It is normally 1. And what does it mean by failed to validate and will be reaquired?
