Dragon Soul Mod Suggestion
*For anyone who is looking to make mods, or has made mods in the past*

Ive been thinking about this for a while now. Its always irritated me how I get done fighting an Elder dragon or Ancient dragon at level 10 (Dont know why they appear) and almost getting bit in half by it, and when I finnaly kill it I only get this ♥♥♥♥poor 1 dragon soul. You would expect to get like atleast 8 or 10 from them right? The stats Im thinking of are

Dragon: 1 Soul (Default)
Frost/Fire Dragon: 2
Blood Dragon: 3
Elder Dragon: 4
Ancient Dragon: 6

Edit the stats as you please, just dont make them 100 just for a regular dragon, that would take out the fun :P.

Not a problem, just always thought there should be a mod for this.

Btw if anyone does make this mod, could you please supply the link in a comment?
Ill favorite and +1 it if you do.

I get what you're saying....elder and ancient dragons are supposed to be powerful creatures. But the thing is, dragons only have one soul, and once you get up in levels and get good gear...an ancient or elder dragon (at least to me) doesn't seem all that much harder than a vanilla dragon. Honestly, I'm at lvl 41 and have dual enchantments on all my gear. At this point dragons seem more like a nuisance than an actual threat. I've got something like 11 unspent souls at this point..simply because I haven't found all the Words of Power yet.
An alternative to this might be when you slay an ancient or elder dragon you get a Word of Power with it. For example, soul trap doesn't work on dragons because you as DragonBorn absorb the souls yourself. Perhaps if you use soul trap (or a weapon enchanted with it) instead of putting the soul into a gem, you get a Word. Just a thought.

I do agree that there should be some sort of power scale to reflect the powerful creatures that elders and ancients are supposed to be.

'Bout sums it up.

'Sides, most people have too many dragon souls that they can't use. That's why there's lots of dragon souls -> perks/items/stats mods out there XD

Well thats different for me. Unlike on the XBOX 360 Version, I would just encounter dragons randomly, even if it wasnt a nest or a burial mound. For some reason on PC, i have to actually search for them in their nests and burial mounds which is kind of a hastle. Not really a hastle for the nests but the burial mounds are impossible to locate even with the actual map item.

Hmm, assuming you've begun the main quest, you definitely should be encountering random dragons, I think roughly every ten game days or so at first (then it seems to speed up as you progress the MQ, though that could just be me). Could be a bug, might be worth googling to see if there's a fix - have you got the Unofficial Skyrim Patch (and patches for any DLC)?

Well the only problem is to unlock shouts ... however if you've done the main quest and you've rebuild the blades you got an unlimited number of dragonslaying quest ... so no problem. It's just that you've got to make CHOICES what to unlock.

Well problem with getting the blades up and running is you have to kill Parthuurnax. And IMO Parthuurnax is the best dragon there is, yeah sure he was, emphasis on "WAS", a dragon general in Alduin's army but hes not anymore. Besides he helps you a ton to even defeat Alduin by teaching you flame, letting you improve a word, giving you knowledge on what to do. Also if you kill him the greybeards hate the ♥♥♥♥ out of you. :P

....Only issue is that the player will be swimming in dragon souls by level 20 which takes the fun out of it all. Not to mention it would absolutely wreck mods like Deadly Dragons

Not to mention, it doesn't make sense - one being, one soul! Posssssssibly it might be interesting to have the bigger, badder dragons have more powerful souls, and require one of those for the third word of a Shout? Dunno if that could be done on the existing engine as a mod, though.

It could be with SKSE.....The issue is making it compatible with mods that add in new species of dragons, if they weren't compatible then you would just receive base level dragon souls even though you were fighting a behemoth of a dragon.

I don't know either but it would be cool to have something that reflects the elder and ancients' power as old souls. Not sure how it could be done though. Maybe a perk system for dragon hunting. For example 'lesser' dragons give you one perk point, Elders give 2, Ancients 3. Or something like that. But again, I'm not sure if that's even feasible because....what perks would be useful for dragon hunting after a certain level..like I said, at l41 with legendary dual enchanted gear, dragons have become little more than giant pigeons that breathe fire. Even the first battle with Alduin wasn't all that hard. I was like...blink. This is the world-eating dragon that everyone fears?(admittedly I'm playing in adept mode...next playthrough will be at master..or whatever the next level was lol)

As for making it? Heh..I could barely figure out how to make a bow with the zephyr enchantment, the look of the ebony bow, and the damage of dragonbone. lol

Honestly the only way to make dragons more of a danger is to introduce mods that make the player less of a walking power house and more of an " average joe "

Bit too much, considering how many shouts there are.
