Looking for A New Gaming Computer Advice!

Trying to buy a New computer to be able to run Skyrim at maximum settings!

Where is a discription ? How come we can't buy through Steam or Can we?

Shouldn't there be a pinned Advice Thread on what computers and peripherials would run Skyrim best? The sort of thread a Moderator could run to help people get a more stable computer to enjoy skyrim even better!

Any Advice, suggestions ... I'm looking for a computer that will run Skyrim at maximum settings with performance the main Criteria, then stability and if Value for money can be achieved all the better

but in reality any good $1200 can run skyrim on ultra settings with no mods hell maybe a $1000 one can.

Tom's Hardware or any reasonable facsimile. Asking for expert hardware advice is hit and miss on a Game (Skyrim) forum. You might do better with Gaming machine BUILD sites.

If 10% of steam customers wanted to buy a computer to play equivalent games to Skyrim Imagine the computer sales and buying power Steam could bring!! Also how many glitches could be fixed by more stable platforms!

I searched general Discussions and Steam discussions and figured Skyrim being the biggest and most modded game would have some of the best computers and computer advice from its members!

I know that there are sites that rate your specific hardware, and as far as I can tell they work well. Perhaps what people need are sites thay ask for you to manually fill in the game, then the computer that you are thinking of buying, plus CPU, Ram, HDD, video card or otherwise. Then give advice as to wether a better video card might perform better etc. Don't get me wrong, what is there is good,but is like putting the horse behind the cart.

if you are going to make your own PC i would watch some videos read a ton of forums and use this site http://pcpartpicker.com/ it will let you shop around for the cheapest prices from a lot of sites saved me 100 or more when i was upgrading my mom's PC

IF you want to know what the future of gaming requirements are going to be ... take a look at Roberts Space Industries (Star Citizen & Squadron 42 in development). When that app is released somewhere in 2015, it's going to be very demanding of even the best built systems.
The first is an MMO and the second listed is Single player with cooperative to be enabled.
It is being developed in NATIVE 64 bit technology.
For now, they list what the current and recommended specs are, but also mention that's subject to change as development progresses.

The best hardware advice from Steam users is found here. It's the old forum but it's hardware specific. And the best of the Steam people hang out there.

A quote that I've looked at "As New" has quite a few of the parts you've listed. with the Exception of including an Intel I7 4770 with Motherboard

bobczes- Thanks for the Link there certainly is a lot of DATA there at "Hardware and Operating Systems" with a list of members computer systems showing what people are using would like to use! It does seem like a Research project
But to select all the working parts of an ideal computer setup will take some effort.

Steam is a software/services business. Why would they change that model to enter the computer hardware business which has been in a downward spiral for the last 4 years? Their IT would be geared to enterprise servers not PCs and they depend on Content Service Providers to offload and distribute their s/w d/ls. It does not follow that Steam would have any expertise at sourcing, building or even drop shipping "more stable platforms".

I don't think it is a very good idea to shop for a system based on whether or not it may run a specific game. Skyrim is over 2 years old... how many people would want just a system that can max its settings? It is excellent to know in general what a user expects to use their system for but few are going to limit that to playing a particular game. The majority of users buy a system based on their budget and want a build with overhead for future needs.
Also, the capital costs of entering a new suffering marketplace not to mention the bizzilion help desk tickets consisting of "My game won't work is it my computer or the game?" would be a fiscal tar pit. It is usually not a good idea to get hardware advice from a vendor... they tend to steer you to products where THEY will profit most.
There exisits, currently, many sites which offer hardware specific information based on in-house tests and/or expert associate/employee reviews and tests.
Ars Technica, a hybrid hw/sw site comes to mind as a general resourse as it is densely populated with certified experts in both the hardware and software fields.
