Does this annoy anyone else?
So you start the game and and tis dragon attacks just as your about to be beheaded saving you. So what would any normal person do? Go to the jarl and warn him obvously. However does it annoy anyone else that you say "the imperials were about to exicute Ulfric" when quite clearly YOUR head was on the block?

I figure Alduin was just signing his own death warrant by saving you.

Doesnt annoy me any more than the inability to join the empire's side, but then destroy the elves.

Ya I figured he was too Vahlok but I also thought that he might have thought no one would survive his attack so he could have thought he would kill you saving himself in the longrun. Actually this raises another point... if you cant kill Alduin without the dragon rend shout why doesnt he just come kill you himself before you know it?

Because he was probably next. I mean, he was there to be executed, not for a tea party.

If you scroll down a little, you have other options for replies, like the one where you admit that your head was about to be decapitated. Then the Jarl appreciates your honesty for that, and says that he doesn't care how you came to be there for an execution, because he's giving you a fresh start more or less. Or words to that affect.

Haha, never thought about it that way

He pretty much wiped out Helgen because it was just a haunt for bandits after passing back through there.
I suppose he's off being busy resurrecting "named" dragons who were killed during the dragon wars, they get up an killing the populations so Alduin can consume their souls in the mists around Sovrnguard(sp?) to gain power in order to devour the world. So, considering Alduin is very arrogant (he taunts you at the first site where you and Delphine go) I don't think he sees us as much of a threat until we learn Dragonrend.

Why would you want to advertise the fact that you were slated for execution to the very people who are in some degree of collaboration with those who were doing the executing? I mean, it does give you the option, it is just not the default option.

It does give the option? Because I dont get it. Although I have moded skyrim alot... Nothing that should change the begining though, but the file might have been removed by mistake or something though.

Sure, you can tell Jarl Balgruuf that you had an excellent view of the dragon as your head was about to be lopped off, or something to that effect. There's no difference game-wise, of course.

ETA: Yes, mods that alter the beginning of the game will remove this option - I am thinking of the Live Another Life one in particular.

Hi! It isn't the only other option, by the way. How do you know what is meant to be the default line? Why not be honest? I've tried it and there is no adverse affect. I've tried each one.

Ever since i found Skyrim Unbound, i've not had to put up with the crapfest that is the main quest.

now that i've tasted sweet freedom, i'll never look back. being the dragonborn, do'h-vakin is someone else's problem.
