console commands question
what is the console command to make a skill a certain number. i need to set them a bit lower to get a quest done.

i looked on the elder scrolls wiki i didn't see it listed.

Hi! There's a so-called "cheat mod", that gives you a reference book with all of the Console Commands in it. When you have it in your inventory, you read it like any other book, and look for the desired command. You can even open up the Console while looking at the page. Hmm. Come to think of it, there are more mods than one that do this. I hope this helps.

player.damageactorvalue skill name number of levels you wish to reduce it
so if you have 50 smithing and want 40, type
player.damageactorvalue smithing 10
to get it back to normal
player.restoreactorvalue smithing 10
