Steam Error 15 [Solved]
Recently I replaced the Steam .esp file with a mostly identical .esp file from Nexus (it was for Morrowloot and fixing a crashing mesh fix for Skullcrusher). I go into Skyrim launcher and I'm not only getting hit with 'failed to find details for __________' but at random points during my playthrough the game will randomly CTD from nowhere. Believing one or more of my mods was outdated, I did some downloading and updated the necessary mods. That didn't stop Steam error 15 from moving onto the next mod saying it failed to find the details but delayed the random CTD to further down my playthrough.

Did I do something wrong?

This is a well documented problem. You are getting one or more of your mods from the Workshop and it has been, or they have been, moved due to size. Same thing happened to me and the fix was quite simple. I checked the mods I subscribed to in the Workshop and though they all, at that time, had a splash page and were subscribed.. some had 0 files. So I located the same mods on Nexus and installed them. Switched to Nexus for all my modding needs. Never went back to the Workshop, though convenient, the auto-update was maddening and then having to chase the mods was irritating.
BTW, the same thing happened.. the bouncing error 15..... you can chase that ball all day depending on how many mods you have and how many have been moved.

I have 90 mods running, a few more from Nexus too (I thought it was primarily the Unofficial Patches). This is gonna take a while.

Q: is this Steam error 15 bad?
MageThis Feb 12 @ 5:43pm
Could be if you play without fixing it. If you continue playing, progressing and saving with some of your mods not running bad things could happen and you would think you would eventually bork the save game. It is going to be the larger mods.. Steam mod size is capped, I think, at 100mb..I am sure someone will correct me if I am way off.

Oh. I went and looked at the mods that this error keeps bringing up. Some of them have stayed unchanged for a while, but a couple others (such as the Unofficial patches) had minor or major updates. And I noticed that so far, the error is only appearing for mods that I subbed to in October of last year to last month...

Yeah, but it is not necessarily the mod which appears to be causing the error. If you deactivate that mod and relaunch the error appears to just move on to the next mod. Check out your larger mods first.

Make list of active mods in game check it off with mods in C:drive skyrim/data. Any mod not showing in active list and are in data list, delete them. What is happening you have a mod or mods that are corrupt or bad file in them and the game is trying to load them.

Other option is to remove all mods from active list and then check C: Drive data list and remove those. Then re add your active list of mods.

I've been checking them one at a time and replacing them when the error pops up. Sometimes the error tells that a mod I JUST deleted and re-subbed to 'failed to find details of _______'

Well, this is infuriating. I think some of the mods I subbed to don't have Nexus alternates to them, so I'm sticking to Steam Workshop for now.

Don't delete them, it is the error giving wrong information, they are fine all the active, mods are OK!!. What it is doing is this - you delete and it will say the next mod in line has failed, forget this, the mod you need to look for is in C:drive steam/steamapps/common/skyrim/data compare all the mods there with active mods. (or delete all active mods and look in data file, any mods still there delete.)
PS help a friend with this error on his computer removed all mods and found 'Better enchance Werewolf' mod in data file removed it and all back to normal. (Of course he had to add his good mods back on)

I...just got the Steam error 15 message again, but this time it was for a Left4Dead 2 mod....on the Skyrim launcher O_o

??? mod has to be in wrong folder

I checked all my mods in my Data folder with the ones in the Skyrim launcher. Everything's there, but something's tripping an alarm.

Only thing you can do now is make a list of your skyrim mods, delete all the mods, verify skyrim game and start a new game. Then re add mods one at a time.
Sorry for delay, time difference.

Uninstalled, reinstalled, a number of mods I'm subbed to aren't loaded in. Better Dynamic Snow updated and some people are getting Steam error 15. In fact, a number of people on Steam are getting this error O_o

Once I got the error for a mod I never subbed to and is brand new on the Workshop (Winterhold Rebuilt or something), and that was strange...

I am sorry for you as I am not getting any of those issue. I do have about 80 active mods on from both workshop and nexus.
