Does Steam price match?
So I was introduced to Skyrim through PS3. Fell in love and got addicted. Now I want it for my PC. Only problem is Steam has it for $60 whereas gamesrocket has it for $28 and change! Does anyone have experience with Games Rocket? It says on their site that Steam activation is required. Honestly, I would simply rather buy it through Steam since they steal all my money already. I would rather not share it with someone else. Plus I am unsure if I would have to get ANOTHER damn gaming website account that would have to be open and active while I try and play the game. Any advice would be great.

Skyrim legendary has been on sale multiple times on Steam for $30. Add it to your wishlist and you will know when it goes on sale.

According to that website, you'll be downloading this game *from* Steam anyway. It sounds like they're re-selling left-over keys.

As far as I can tell, no there's no program you need to have running in the background (like Origin). And no more need of an account than any other online purchase site.

This is all from what I glean off the webpage but they're gonna send you a key that you'll use on Steam - so you're buying a Steam game and will have Steam support.

Just for half the price.

That was exactly my thought. I chatted with their sales team and basically it is a global region game which will work with Steam and it is in English. I am just a worry wort but I really wanted to start playing it on PC because I really do not want to waste anymore time with the PS3 version. Should I wait or buy?!?

That is up to you. It is just a port of the ps3 version so it is exactly the same. You can however mod it to your hearts content which is nice. If you have a good pc you can make it look a lot better than the ps3 version.

That is exactly why I want it for PC. The quality and performance. The PS3 definitely has some bugs that quite frankly, were never taken care of. In the PC version Bethseda gave it its best TLC and it shows!

Nooooo, the PC version is not the one that Bethesda showered with love. The PC version is the one that was mostly ignored in favor of its more profitable console siblings.

It *is*, however, the one that has given the community the tools to fix the stuff Bethesda wouldn't, along with allowing our modders to transform the game into what it should have been from the start.

Isn't that exactly what I said with fewer words?

I was not aware of that. I should have done more research. My buddy told me the PC version was much better and gave me a bunch of reasons why. I have not been thrilled with the many weird glitches on the PS3 version. Freezes, long load times, etc. I was hoping the PC version would be better. So I shouldn't do the PC version?

If you want to mod the game then buy the PC version. Check out Nexus to get an idea of what is available and you will be impressed. For that matter, check out the Workshop it is easier to navigate but if you buy I suggest that you use Nexus... you will kind of have to if you want the larger mods and the unofficial patches.

Only if you're done with the vanilla game and plan to mod the heck out of it (no easy task - you'll spend as much time sorting out problems between mods as you will playing - but *I* find even that fun).

The Unofficial (community created patches) get rid of most of the bugs (far more than Bethesda did after release) but with them its gonna play the same as on the the console. Maybe slightly better looking with the High Res DLC.

Hmmm...I am not too interested in modding the game to be honest. So maybe it's not worth getting on PC then. Hmmm...you guys are making this really hard you know!!! LOL

I'm not sure what these guys are talking about, but the PC version of Skyrim is the best even without mods. The PS3 version is notorious for being the worst. Anyplace that you can buy the Legendary Edition is probably selling the Steam key as I think that's how it's been released.
