Upgrade regular Skyrim with Legendary?
Hi,

My brother has regular Skyrim, UK retail, and he wants the DLCs, and we can get the Legendary Edition way cheaper than buying the DLCs seperately (they are hardly ever on sale anywhere).

So the question is - can you use the Legendary serial code to upgrade regular Skyrim to get the DLCs? Please only answer if you are 100% sure.

Thanks :)
Simon.

Do you mean 'if you already have Skyrim, can you buy and install the Legendary Edition over the top of it?'? If so, yes, that's what I did. It may be a bit tricky if you have a Steam copy and buy a physical copy, but it can be done (but will still involve a large download as the physical copy will be out of date.)

Thanks.

They would both be retail boxed versions (of course all versions of Skyrim use Steam). What we'd like is just to input the Legendary code, restart steam and have it download the DLCs (and whatever updates are necessary, the download size doesn't matter). What we don't want is to have to uninstall regular Skyrim and then install Legendary because my brother is already half way through his playthrough and has loads of mods installed, so he doesn't want to have to reinstall all his mods.

Might be less hassle to just wait until the DLCs are on sale.
