Dark Brotherhood or companions. also imperial or stormcloaks (read desc.)

So I want to know which of each of these factions to join, and how it'll affect my time in big towns. for example, if I join the stormcloaks or drk brotherhood, will I be completely banned from whiterun? or will people of the other faction want my head on a platter?

No no faction should ban you from a city and they wont hate you if you joi n a diffrent faction so you can join the the Db, war, companions,Tg and CoW and you shouldnt have any problems. (exept for the Dark brotherhood and theives guild, because both will have commit crimes so you might get a small bount every now and then)
