NEED HELP! Master files Contains dirty edits ?
I've deleted all my skyrim game files and reinstalled through steam ,
then I check the files with BOSS and here is the result:
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=225692748

How come the whole new files I've just downloaded that not play it yet
then it contains dirty edits?

And I have another question:
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=225696308

Which one of SKSE I should to use?
Current build 1.6.16 or Alpha build 1.7.0 ?

Thank you !

Yes. DO NOT CLEAN THEM!

Not all dirty edits are a problem - TESVEdit's heuristics can only do so much.

Its just stuff left over from the development, at worst they are minor mistakes, at best they are stuff that actually needs to be there for the game to work and if you clean them you will royally ♥♥♥♥♥♥ your game up.

Incuncabulum is wrong. You do need to clean those master files. BOSS isn't just heuristics. Real people take note of what edits are actually made and then give feedback to the BOSS team accordingly. Sometimes there are intentional dirty edits that are important for things to work as they should but there aren't any of those in Skyrim's official master files.

Under vanilla Skyrim those dirty edits are irrelevant. Once you start adding mods those dirty edits are what will frequently crash your game. When a mod references something that one of Skyrim's masters deleted BOOM CRASH. That's why you clean.

Many of the mods that have dirty edits have had notes added to them so they either don't show up as dirty within BOSS or explicitly say not to clean them.

I have 8, or so Mods marked as dirty, and have never cleaned them, and more than likely, won't. There are a lot of poeple that choose not to use TESEdit, and don't have any issues. If I had an issue, I probably would just delete Mod.

So if you've been playing for a while, and don't have an issue with those dirty Mods, and your game is stable, then I wouldn't give it cause for alarm, but that's my opinion, and I can't remember the last time I had a CTD.
Since i use the unofficial patches i dont have any dirty edits anymore. I added them AFTER TES5 Edit, i added the patches, launched BOSS, played the game and after adding a new mod and launched BOSS again, NO dirty edits showed up. Game is running like a freaking train now.

I'm glad to hear that. I also have a very fine running game without using TESVEdit. Not using TESVEdit, doesn't mean the game will crash.
so true, i only use the texture optimizer most of the time and my use of BOSS is also very minimum, depends on the load order of NMM.

They're like that because that's how Bethesda left them. They did not clean the masters which is why you need to.

Ok,Thank you guys so much!
I remove back my old files except cleaned master files,
the master files in my game is still "dirty".
and I installed unofficial patchs,my game is running good so far.

I'll leave those dirty master files there and do nothing,
unless if my game having issue, then I'll try to clean them again.:demoticon:

Never "clean" master files. If BOSS tells you to clean it, tell BOSS to f**k off.

Hmm, I've cleaned all my Bethesda masters, although they worked just fine before. Can't do any harm surely. Not sure why people are so anti.

Yes it can - it can do considerable harm. Harm like breaking the mod, which in this case would break the whole game.

Not all those dirty edits are actually dirty edits that can be cleaned. Some are neccessary. If you've cleaned them and nothing bad has happened, good. But I've seen many people have to do a re-install because they cleaned (probably auto-cleaned) without knowing what or why and screwed up their masters.

The O/P posted that he/she pooched the previous game/save "cleaning" files.

They probably actually only messed up their game because of the mods they were using prior to cleaning. Mod references a dirty edit - you fix the dirty edit but the saved scripts in your game still look for it hence upsetting the whole game. New saves will not be effected.
