PLEASE HELP
Hoping someone can help me!? So I purchased Skyrim from Steam, I dont own a hard copy of the game on disc at all. I installed it it worked fine, played 11 hours of it no problems. I then hadn't played it for some months and decided to play again! only to find it had uninstalled itself from my Steam library, I then had to re install it, it installed the whole game I think 9GB or so then when i went to launch it to play it says... Cant Launch Skyrim DISC READ ERROR???? does anyone know a fix for this? I dont own it on disc, was working fine up until it auto un installed, tried all the steam help page fixes nothing works! PLEASE HELP! MANY THANKS.

I run windows 8.1 also not sure if thats an issue or not

Run as administrator. Also, if the game somehow auto-uninstalled did you make sure that ALL the files were deleted? Usually the uninstall is incomplete and leaves files/folders which have to be manually removed for a fresh install.

either try to run a game cache integrity of the game to make sure you don't have any missing files. if it still comes up, it may be a hardware issue. i think 'disc read error' may refer to the hard drive discs, and something just isn't right

Could just be bad sectors.. have you run chkdsk or another check disk utility to re-map possibly corrupt sectors?
