Player Character Dialogue
Hmm. I've seen two friends play games, and they talk while they do so, and I wonder if they are doing so for my benefit. Because I only talk when I play, if my cat, or my dogs, are present. (Or if the friends are present, I talk to them.) I don't talk to the computer unless I'm angry with it. But anyway, those friends that talk, seem to be talking as their characters, though in ways that don't quite fit with the game world.
Since then, I've played "Oblivion" and "Skyrim" both, for many hours. But only just recently, did an NPC say something to my PC in such a way, that it had me wondering, just what did my PC say anyway. That in turn reminded me, that I've been meaning to ask others about it, so here I am.
For those of you that write journals about your gaming adventures, I can go read what you wrote, I reckon. But for those of you that don't write your adventures down like that, but you do still role-play these games, I was wondering, if you go so far as to make up dialogue as you play the games, to further increase your immersion. So, do you?
Also, has anyone else wondered what the unspoken, official dialogue is that your PC supposedly says, but you can't read it, let alone hear it? Is there a way to learn it, from some hidden source? Or are we left using our imaginations? Is there a mod for it?
Just curious. :-)
(At least back when I played "ZORK", I could reply. I miss messing with that game too.)
