Is Skyrim worth getting?
It's been some 3 years since the release, is there an upcomming sequel or is this good to buy?

Yes. For so many thousands of reasons, yes. (don't know about any sequel though)

I think you should google Skyrim, then see for yourself.

OOOH, we got a fresh one here guys! OP, you're gonna LOVE Skyrim :)

(You're also gonna want to mod it, but I recommend you play it for a bit first, to get the feel for what the actual game is like :) Enjoy! (Oh, and go Khajiit, all the way).

no known sequels yet. 4 (main, there were spin-offs) previous games, 2 of them extremely good, but it is a brilliant game. play it! and the dlc! mod it, too! but first, go breton. breton ftw.

I would recommend Skyrim, even after its 3 year release there is still tons of mods for it from the modding community. Skyrim is a great open world game full of adventure and wonder and is a definite yes to get. However, it does have occasional bugs that are too long to list, but other than that its a great and superb game to play. If you're unsure about getting it, then search on youtube for Skyrim pc gameplay with or without mods, these gameplays should help you in your decision of getting Skyrim or not.

In regard to Sequels, no news yet on if the Elder Scrolls 6 is in development and its release date. So you have some time until it comes out.

Yes, it has a lot of replay value, and more than ten thousand hours of gameplay thanks to mods.

I will be honst with you.. I questioned this myself before i brought it...

the game is DEFINITLY worth getting.. but the Lagging and the Glitches and the incompaibility issues will completely stress you out...

I've had the game since January 2014.. when i first installed and play it was lagging sooooo bad.. i had to try like 15 differant fixes before it worked properly.. i enjoyed myself once it was fixed, but now.. Steam or bethseda(the game makers) have updated it and the game no longer works and the lag has comeback and nothing is fixing it this time..

I've uninstalled an reinstalled 3 times in the last 2 weeks trying to fix it.. and i NEVER use mods..

I would advise you not to get the game unless you have like a SUPREME $1500+ computer... my computer is pretty high end with a i7 processor and a terabyte of memory..

I wish i saved my money and never brought the game now tbh.. but only becasue i want to play it so bad and i cannot..

If you can imagine buying and eating a delicious meal then never being able to have that same meal ever again... ask yourself would you have eaten it originally?

That is the Skyrim Enigma... F&<k Bethseda ( ._.)

WELL, there's your problem, right there! Your game is lost in that terabyte of memory and can't get out. O_O. Damn.

That's like 128 8GB RAM sticks! Huge case.

Sorry, I know you didn't mean memory.

I have to say, even without modding, I did not yet discover all of skyrims locations and I put quite a lot of time into this game (with several different saves more than 500 hours... I`m a pretty slow player though, like to look around, gather alchemy ingredients and marvel about landscape and dragons ^^)
If you like open world, buy this game, it's just wonderful :) (But I have to give the others a point with the updates making thins a bit difficult, lags more every time they change something)

This is complete tosh - the last patch was more than a year ago and Bethesda stepped away from the project shortly after.

From the wiki:
Version 1.9
Version 1.9.32.0.8

Patch 1.9.32.0.8 was released as a Steam beta update on 19 March 2013 and was released to all PC users on 20 March 2013, nearly three weeks before the 1.9.31.0.8 patch for Xbox 360 and PS3.[1]
