Skyrim 144 hz bug / fix
Does anyone know a fix for the 144hx bug?

EDIT
I found a fix for anyone who has a problem with the screen flickering,physics going crazy and the floating enemies while gaming at 144hz, go and get (Dxtory) or any other FPS limiter and limit your FPS up to 120hz from my testings anything past that will cause those glitches to occur atleast thats how it is for me but give it a try and see if this fixes your problem for people with 144hz monitors. If setting it to 120 hz doesnt work then try setting your fps to the highest possible limit until the glitches stop occuring.

Possible FPS limits you can try setting = 120,110,90,70, 60 but i dont recommend 60 you dont get a 144hz monitor to play at 60 hz lol but if thats what works go right ahead.

Edit:
Dash Pet (Chanoler) (found a fix/ work around on youtube) thank you for sharing it.

In Skyrim.ini add this line under

fMaxTime=0.0333 is for 30fps, may help performance on slow computers

fMaxTime=0.0166 is for 60fps

fMaxTime=0.0133 is for 75fps

fMaxTime=0.0111 is for 90fps

fMaxTime=0.0083 is for 120fps

fMaxTime=0.0069 is for 144fps

fMaxTime=0.0042 is for 240fps+

and

[Display]

iVSyncPresentInterval=0 for Special Edition

iPresentInterval=0 for Original edition

It is not a bug... your monitor did not exist when the game was finished. The hardware (hard-coded) limit for this game is 60fps, 60Hz. Use your graphics control console, nvidia inspector etc to limit your system to those parameters. You can create a profile for this game.

OK thanks ill give that a try.

Well that fix didnt work but the whole hard coded limit for the game being 60 hz is not true I got a frame limter (Dxtory) and limited my fps to 120 hz and eveything works perfectly so it is bug with 144hz I guess they never patch the game to work with 144hz monitors.

I'm very happy with your post, I was about to give up too.

120hz is so much better than 60hz! I understand why it works. It's because 60+60=120. It's only 2x more.

144hz is not a multiple of 60 that's probably why it has issues.

Because with 85hz it also has issues.

Anyways, thanks!

u dont need a third party program to limit ur fps, u can simply use the windows options :O at least u can do it with win 7, rightclick on ur desktop chose "screen resolutions" then u pick "advanced option" u chose the "monitor" tab and here u can chose the hz frequenz that u want.

Yes you absolutely can but it locks your fps at 60 and going back and forth to change it between 144 hz or 120 from 60 seems like a bit of a hassle but if thats the way one prefurrs to use then by all means do so, this can also be done in your AMD / NVIDIA control panel.

Just set up a profile in your video control panel. RadeonPro works fine for AMD cards and the Nvidia control panel also offers profile, configuration management.

i've had some glitches at 120hz after all, now i'm playing at 60hz and the graphical glitches are mostly gone.

It's not that bad after all.
