I'm modding and I can't stop!!
What do you do? I've been reinstalling all my mods since finding out my game was buggered beyond repair and since then... well, I've just been installing mods.

I can't get out of the Nexus. It's just page after page after infinite page of stuff that I've "got to have" for my game. Do I need higher-detailed mushrooms?! Of course I do. Oooo, there's a file, so I grab it. Wait, the hinges on all the doors in my game look a little dingy and lackluster...gotta grab that mod too! The undersides of rocks in Skyrim aren't of the same high-quality textures as the visible parts...why not? I've gotta have that too. Skeevers' butts in my game look a little "off"...need that mod as well. Oh, man, and have you ever seen how vampires' teeth in the game are only 17mm long?!?! That's whack. I want the deluxe Toothy Mod with 29mm incisors!! Boo-yeah.

It just never ends. :-( How do I get out of the Nexus and start playing? I don't want to get 2 weeks into yet another playthrough and find out that there's a mod for all the bards to walk around singing Botany Bay!

"oh, I'm lost in the Nexus...
Singing toorali-orali-addity
Singing toorali-oolari-ay!
Singing toorali-ollari-addity
We're bound for Botany Bay

God, I think I've gone off the deep end... :-(

Sounds like you have a case of Nexsels, like measels but more fun. There is but one, temproary, cure: step well away from the puter.

If a mod does only one thing, get rid of it. That way I went down from having 150+ mods to under 30 on my list and the game barely changed at all besides stability.

Im with you. look around and you'll find me. I wanted to go from 20 downloaded mods in the workshop to 1 or 2 from nexus. Im around 40 now with just nexus mods. and im talking huge ones not just hinges. SkyRe and immersion mods out my behind. From spellcrafting and alchemy overhauls to vampire and racial mods, i'm drawn to them all. Ive stayed away from texture mods but have gone for gameplay and system mods.
I feel like a drug addict left alone in the police evidence room. everywhere i look is heaven. Even though i have started a game only a few days ago im already regretting that decision because i see other ones i want.
Together we must be strong and actually play the game instead of looking at what it could be. I have decided to finish the main quest and then see what happens . wish me luck

That sounds like really good advice. Looking at some of the ones I've dl'd (not actually installed), I'm seeing a pattern: dozens and dozens of "mods" that might replace one specific item group or terrain texture in the environment. Might try to just focus on major improvements and weather/visual upgrades and skip all the extra bs. Thanks!

@Everyone else, I appreciate the moral support. If it wasn't for you guys, I might be lost forever. :-)

I think I have spent more time modding this game than playing it, and I have spent a lot of time playing it xD

My only problem is that when I add a bunch of mods and remove others I always want to start a new character!

Relax. I have a cure. What I do is take a day off and play a low key game, like civ5. Ofcourse, I only download from here and a Jackga or 2.

1. Mod it till it crashes
2. Fix it
3. Wash
4. Risne
5. Repeat

Maybe the crashing will be the cure. I always read the comments before downloading a mod. If too many people are complaining in the comments, I don't get that mod no matter how cool it looks. Just move stability higher on your priority order list.

Is that a function of NMM or the better (in my opinion) of NMO? I mean being able to move stability up the list. Crap just noticed I don't have the "Stability" mod so I can't move it anywhere.

I would stop while youre ahead, lots of mods can crash your game

What makes you think he is, at this point, ahead? My guess is even if he smokes pot he is not ahead but behind the Nexus 8-ball.

Right - oh then. Wonder how long before your game is buggered again? Not long by the sound of it.

+1 but think of the possiblities and the possible fun. Makes it well worth it.

The best answer to your problem is about 3/4 tablespoon of water directly onto your computer

It wont stop this addiction but will initiate the firststage of withdrawals

other than this there is no known cure

I'm soo sorry

No, that is not necessary. After a 24 hr stint you can't keep anything down, so the coffee, Red Bull and your poison of choice should be tastefully upgorged into your play and monogrammed stainless steel gallon bucket.
