Running a "Steam Workshop" mod through NMM or MO?
Is it possible to download a "steam workshop" mod and run it through NMM or MO instead of... however the workshop normally does things?

Or if i'm doing nexus mods, should i just sort of write off stuff on the Workshop?

~~
To be clearer i would like to use this mod from the workshop, but since i use MO i am not so sure it's possible since you don't seem to be able to just... like.. "download" Steam Workshop mods as actual files??

Yes you can.

Just download from the Workshop [subscribe].
Then you can either leave it alone, since it's already downloaded to your Data folder.
OR
Unsubscribe from mod [prevents Workshop updates/downloads]; go into your Skyrim/Data/ folder then back it up as an archive [7zip] and add it to MO or NMM as a new mod.

To be honest, I know the NMM will recognize Workshop Plugins from their Plugin Viewer, so there's no reason why you can't use Workshop along side NMM or MO

Thanks so much, Shocks! i'm going to try it the second way you suggested. Thanks for explaining how they would work together.

Hmm! although it doesn't seem like that mod went to my skyrim data folder..... or.. at least i don't see it :\ (though i did see Steam appearing to 'download' something after i clicked "subscribe", though where the heck those files went... only the nine know!

oh well. i realise now it's on Nexus anyways, so i'll just do that.

Yes i use that.

But, since i realised the "all races drop skulls" mod is also on Nexus i don't actually have to worry about how to get this Steam Workshop thing working alongside MO yet!

Okay, you must start Skyrim through steam so that the new Steam mod can load-up into your game, then exit steam and start your game with SKSE

OH well there's what i did wrong right that. After i did the mod i didn't start Skyrim directly through Steam first. So.. i guess that's what the issue was. Thanks, that'll help in the future if i try to use Steam Workshop mods again.

you only have to do that with Steam mods and not Nexus mods
