I just got skyrim! What now?
I got skyrim with all the DLC in its glory and I was just wondering do you guys have any tips for me? Are there things I should be sure to do and/or go to and things I should not do? Is one way of fighting more fun then another or does my choice of gender/race affect the game in a good or bad way? Basicly I want just some NON SPOILER tips of what is the best way to play skyrim IN YOUR OPINION.

Explore a lot, talk to others and do some jobs for them. It's a big world out there, so walk a lot and do not use fast travel. Talk to inn keepers for getting jobs, and (that's the most important thing) ENJOY THE SECENERY! Have fun :)

Ok thanks, I'll keep that in mind!

Use your hands, not your feet, unless you are really good with your feet. Also, be sure to double click the icon or name to start the program before attempting to play; otherwise you'll be looking at the desktop. I mean, I am sure you have a pretty cool desktop, but you paid for this title, and you probably want to play it.

Just play the game. Do what you want. TES' greatest strength is the open world content. Go to places you think are interesting and talk to people. That's what most of us did.

The Sneak skill can be very useful. To advance your sneaking more quickly try sneaking behind guards on their rounds at night. If they detect you there isn't any punishment, just find another shadow crouch down, and start following him again. If you are within the area of their awareness, your sneak will increase.

Take it slow. This isn't the kind of game where you want to rush through the main storyline. Make sure you check out all of the guilds and do a lot of those missions too. There is a massive amount of content that can keep you busy for a long, long time.

Disable Fast Travel. There's so much adventure out there on the open road and more of it when you leave the road and explore the wilds.

also i recommend that you go and do the DragonBorn DLC as soon as you unlocked it, i think it unlocks after you speak to the Grey beards but only when your level 8 or 10

Ok so take it slow, No fast traval, Explore the world. Seems like a good plan.

Go to any village. Find a chicken. Save your game. Kill the chicken. Enjoy ;)

Take your time, enjoy what the world has to offer. I think with games like this you should savour every questline, location and enemy ~ as the comments have said, sneak skills and lockpicking take you pretty far. The beautiful thing about Skyrim is you're mostly in control ^o^

Don't get distracted from the main story early on, it unlocks abilities. I made that mistake the 1st time
