Let's try to verify your files properly at first.

Clear the download data
- Exit Steam
- Go to Steam folder
- Remove the folder named appcache

Clean configuration
- Go to (My)Documents > My Games > Skyrim
- Remove files Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini (extensions might not be visible in your view)
- Shut down and restart your computer

Verify your files
- Start Steam. It will load a bit and create new appcache folder
- From Steam client Library view: right-click the game with your mouse
- Select Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Cache
- Let it run

Start the game
- Skyrim will now create new configuration files.

Tell us if it worked. There are other things to try, if this one did not fix your problem.

Here's a question: what are your computer specs?

"fully upgraded 1 terabyte computer" tells us nothing.

Game has some memory bugs. Most players have less problems with them, but others - for some reasons that are still unknown to me - have some extra trouble. You could try to install ENBoost and SKSE Memory fix. First one should help against the crashing and freezing and latter against more sudden CTDs.

SKSE (1.7.0 Alpha)
Installer will create SKSE launcher to your desktop. You need to use it instead of the default launcher, or SKSE does not load.

Always start Steam first, or it will offer you the default launchers. SKSE launcher is legit and works properly with Steam. Most of us are using it. Only the current alpha build has data to for the memory fix.

CTD and Memory patch ENBoost
Binaries can be downloaded from enbdev.
- Select News
- Download
- TES Skyrim (Under "Graphic modifications")
- v0.254 (Or more recent)
- Download icon can be found from the bottom of the page.

http://enbdev.com/

Nexus has configuration files for ENBoost, based on your GPU. Instructions can be found fromthe page.

SKSE Memory fix
This is recommended. It doesn't do a thing to prevent the freezing issue, but helps with other possible CTDs. Instructions are my own.

What are your computer specs?
Version 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601
System Type x64-based PC
Processor AMD FX(tm)-8120 Eight-Core Processor, 3100 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)
BIOS Version/Date Award Software International, Inc. FB, 8/26/2011
SMBIOS Version 2.4
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 8.00 GB
Total Physical Memory 8.00 GB
Available Physical Memory 5.61 GB
Total Virtual Memory 16.0 GB
Available Virtual Memory 13.4 GB

not sure if these are specs havent had to check them in a while
I don't see a video card listed. Is the FX 8120 an APU? Because when I looked it up on newegg, it didn't mention anything of having a built in video card.

Perhaps that's your problem.
heres card Card name: AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series
Manufacturer: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.
Chip type: AMD Radeon Graphics Processor (0x6739)
DAC type: Internal DAC(400MHz)
Display Memory: 4095 MB
Dedicated Memory: 1011 MB
Shared Memory: 3084 MB
Current Mode: 1920 x 1080 (32 bit) (60Hz)

That card -should- be able to run Skyrim, so that's definitely not the problem. Glad we've ruled that out entirely.

As for the freezing, is it perhaps microstuttering?
Try this mod maybe: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/34/?
Set the framerate cap to 59 and play around with the RenderAheadLimit setting. I've heard 2 is a good setting to start with.
finally some results thank you
