Smart start on legendary
Everyone knows leg difficulty will kick your tail at the beginning of a new playthrough, but that hasn't detered us from doing it anyway.

I began to realize however, the devs knew we would try this and placed a number of objects in the game, and always in the same place to give us an edge.

One of the best static items that I've found to help on a difficult playthrough is the staff of paralyzation which is always in Snapleg Cave, not far from the entrance.

In Fort Amol prison, there is always a Bound Bow spell book hidden under a lantern in a bucket.

If you know of any more powerful objects like this, which are easy to get that can help on a hard playthrough, please list them.

I didn't even know about those two! I've been through Fort Amol more times than I can count. Unless I picked it up and don't remember it, I've never seen it. Where is Snapleg Cave? Don't think I've ever seen that one; just Embershard Mines near the beginning. :-(

It's right off the main road between Ivarstead and Riften. If you start from Whiterun and go past the bandit towers, keep on going on the main road until you see a sign pointing toward Riften on a severe uphill climb. The cave is to the left. There's also an alteration skill book in that cave.

I always pick up baskets and buckets and shake them after finding that book in Fort Amol lol

Legendary is easy. All you do is kite enemies until your combat skills are decent. Then you can pwn people 24/7. Note: Combat skills level SIGNIFICANTLY faster on Legendary difficulty. I
