I keep making new character
Hi. I need help. I loe Skyrim, but i have actually not gotten further than Riverwood and Whiterun. I keep restarting as a new char all the time. I don't know why. I just think "hm...that other race looks cool" or something like that :(

How stick to one character

I just change my appearance etc. by using the console in-game. Works wonders. You can also reset perks.

I'm 1/4th Khajiit. :D

I was thinking of roleplaying as Harald Hardrada...what kind of weapon would he use xP

Historically, a one-handed steel sword and wooden shield combo, I'd imagine. Those are low-ish level gear in Skyrim though, so you'd probably have to turn to mods if you wanted to keep it consistant throughout the game.

Just know that if you invade my country you will be killed in battle in the north, ok?

You can change your looks with the showracemenu command, but it's quite risky changing your race or gender, unless you've really just started out, as it tends to reset skills.

I tend to have longer playthroughs when I've got a particular goal in mind. Of course, if you haven't played much of the game it will be tricky to know what you'd like to do, and I don't want to make suggestions when I don't know how you feel about metagaming/spoilers/how much you know about the content already.

It's a curse!

OP is Doomed. If just getting to Whiterun or Riverwood causes character anxiety the odds are zero of ever reaching Solstheim nevermind Markarth. On the brighter side it is a style of play that seems to make the OP happy as evidenced by its repetition and the expressed love of the game.

Discuss the re-start disease with Skyrimnut who has battled the same affliction with much success.

yup race means nothing. stones and magic compensate for any racial benefits. Become invested emotionally. if youve played any rpgs in your life name the toon after them and try to match looks, etc.
youve seen 1% of the game. At least do the main quest upto near completion before starting over. I dont want to give away any spoilers so I cant be more specific

Pretty sure it's called "restarteritus", and it's only curable with tons and tons of therapy and group support. Which, the group support consists of "you can do it, you can do it, you can do it" chanted over and over by your fellow forum members.

Hahaha, true, true. :)

The disease can be beaten, I assure you.
