I thought "they should divorce" but then remembered that it's Skyrim and you can divorce only by sword or cliffs.
But come on, how hard is it to remember your wifes name? lol.
The double bed in Bolli's house is NOT marked as "owned" - which means that the player can sleep in it, as long as there are not already two people in it.
Nivenor goes to bed before Bolli gets back from the pub.
The player can, therefore, use the bed while Nivenor is the only other person in it... Although you only get to hit the "Sleep" button and select how many hours you want, you can use your imagination for the rest.
If Bolli is in the house when you wake up, he won't even remark on it. He may order you out of the house for trespassing, but you'll have plenty of time to walk out, and he will never mention that you've been sharing the bed with Nivenor.
Nor will anybody else, including your spouse. There isn't even an opportunity in the game for your spouse to find out, or even for the player to tell them.
Since Bolli is, of course, also cheating with Haelga, I guess the two have gotten reconciled to an "open" marriage, and the letter confirming Nivenor's adultery to Bolli is "old news" now. The couple bicker all the time, but Nivenor will actually defend Bolli when Grelka calls him a deadbeat - although she will insult him when talking to Drifa. And while Haelga and Bolli talk about running away together, Bolli keeps on giving Haelga excuses as to why he won't... while Haelga herself is having affairs with other men...
Personally I think, bickering or no, Bolli and Nivenor are eminently suited to each other, and probably quite reconciled to each other's affairs, so long as Nivenor's partners leave without a fuss when Bolli gets back...
"Oh. You as well? Might have expected as much, it was Brand-Shei last week. On your way. Mind the doormat, and don't slam the door too hard, you'll wake up Mjoll and Aerin next door. And then they'll keep *us* awake all night themselves. Don't worry, I won't tell your wife anything she doesn't already know."
"...erm right, and was it Haelga or Drifa tonight for you? Or were you trying to pick up Ingun? That one's gonna be big trouble one day..."
"Shaddup. You know I'm always home two hours after Nivenor, NOT three. Quit pushing your luck. Good night, Dragonborn."
