overcoming the boredom
What does everyone else do to make the game less boring? Mods helped for a few months but even with that it just gets boring with a maxed out character. I started to rp with a woodelf that only makes or finds her own wepon and armor. She will not mine or use shops (except to get a couple spells). She will avoid towns unless a mission makes her go to it. I started taking up the side missions to kill X bandit leader at Y location and I will only kill the bandit leader without alerting anyone else in the camp. I tried to rp as a mage for fun but alteration gets op as an anti mage/dragon tank. Was going to do an average warrior with a sword and shield but even the shield tree is really op. Having a hard time trying to make this game fun again even with 50+ mods.

Or you could take a break and play something totally different until you have a fever to play Skyrim again. That's what I do with any game, not just Skyrim.

save game then go to all the keep and castles and just kill everyone when your done you can load so you are still a friendly
I was able to save the guy getting exicuted in Solitude with just fireball and 2 flame thralls.
You've to put fantasy in RPGs and try to build your own story as well. Otherwise it'll seem lifeless and void to you. Skyrim is actually kinda lifeless without mods.
Hee hee, @trgrcntrl, haven't we all done that?

Steam's filled with games, and the world is full of things to do besides games. There's no rational reason not to powergame the amount of enjoyment you get from your free time (provided it's within moral/ethical boundaries, of course). With all the stuff out there competing for your disposable time/income, the threshold for diminishing returns on any given activity is always mere inches away. Staying to squeeze every last drip out of something is a waste of time if you can get more than drips elsewhere.

Skyrim's good, but it's not infinite. If you feel done, you are done.

Wow 50 mods, my computer can barely handle 2
I just got back from not playing since late last year (December'ish)

It happens, take a break.
Want a challenge? Play real death. If you die, you're done. Start new toon. It is fun to start with nothing and see how far you can make it without ever dying.

I play Jesus-Style. When an NPC with a name dies in the game from bandits, dragons, etc. I resurrect them through the console.

..... After I rob their corpse blind of course.

Or save only at home.
Install SkyRe and set the difficulty to Legendary (if you have all DLCs)

Basically, yeah. There are certainly games that I return to over and over again, TES titles are not among them. I will play them for a long time, but when I am done, I am done.

Yeah I would put the difficulty on legendary, get some dragon mods (like DCO or deadly dragons) or perhaps try SkyRe like someone mentioned. I play with the highest difficulty and like legendary dragon settings on dco, and this game is tought as balls. I run anytime I see a dragon anymore, because even me and my group of adventurers (five followers) can't take them down. Not even with the guards around. And we aren't even talking when two or three dragons come around at once to attack. Then I'm like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ myself. I'm having to ninja everything.

But if you are bored just take a break. I get bored too and come back a few months later when I feel like I need some Skyrim in my life :)
